Introduction
Testengine is an upcoming Minetest fork that allows players to play with "hardware".
It basically has a bunch of mods that have cool mechanics like Mesecons, or Technic (theres more than this) , and makes a person read wiki pages very carefully to understand and build awesome things. If wiki's are not available, they must read the Minetest wiki and learn the API so they can read the code.
The goal of this fork was so make something for people to learn how to work with mods without asking for help in IRC, and annoying people (ie. me). It also will have to teach them how to work with the API so they can read the code, another way they don't have to bother people. And in the mean time, they can actually edit the mechanics of the game to fit their liking and make things a lot easier!
So is the effect of this?
This teaches people to stop bothering the IRC people for help, and makes them look up things on Wiki's, and learn how to play mods, and learn how to work in Minetest. (might increase mod developers too)
Contests
Every 3 months, a contest will be held to see who can build the most advanced piece of machinery in the game. (rules will be added later)
When will this be released?
This games "minetest_game" is already complete, we are currently working on the core right now to make the game run faster with mods to reduce lag as well as change how the game works itself. We expect release in early November 2014.

Re: Testengine
Would you consider telling the following fork of Minetest about this?
