You could try to compile it yourself, Fedora17 = Linux
--> https://github.com/celeron55/minetest --> scroll down, -->readme.txt --> scroll down --> Compiling on GNU/Linux
Copy + paste 1st --> sudo (apt-get install build-essential libirrlicht-dev cmake libbz2-dev libpng12-dev libjpeg8-dev........ etc, etc... )

consegui!!!!!!!!!!!o problema que estava ocorrendo eram as dependencias, que no tutorial do readme.txt eram do ubuntu e eu até tinha tentado trocar o apt-get pelo yum, so que os nomes das dependencias eram diferentes, por isso nao funcionava. tutorial para usuarios do fedora:http://linuxhtpcguide.blogspot.com.br/2011/06/howto-install-minetest-c55-on-fedora.html
