Topic: Server bug

I'm running the latest dev version of minetest, and it won't connect to servers. Why is this? N.B. I was hosting a local server for me and a friend to play on, and he also had the latest dev version, and it wouldn't connect at all... It just loads for ages.

I love exploring minetest worlds :D

It can be that you have too many mods.

Your installed mods don't affect the ability connect.  More likely, what you thought was "the latest" is in fact too old (the latest is 0.4.3 plus a few bugfixes in github).  If not that, maybe you're connecting to servers that don't run the latest (most apparently don't).

What error messages are you seeing?  Anything to do with "inventory" or "protocol"?

I'm not seeing any error messages, it just shows the loading screen and doesn't load. It just connects eternally.
