Rendering it would be possible, but you can’t walk on the sides.

It’s an official wiki, yes. But it was stated several times by the devs that the wiki is not the official documentation of the Minetest API.

Re: What's Minetest still missing over Minecraft?

Movement in MTE is very mechanical and just not smooth and the render is also simple, formspecs are the culmination of blandness. Animations are also lackluster in MTG, and the art design in it... looks amateurish for pixel graphics. The sound design in MTG is also lacking, even with mods. The prob...

Re: make a block play a sound randomly

You need to define it in the node’s definition. minetest.register_node('test:test', { description = 'Test', tiles = { 'default_wood.png^[colorize:#ffff00:128' }, groups = { oddly_breakable_by_hand = 1 }, -- Execute when the node was placed -- -- https://github.com/minetest/minetest/blob/568694122cb6...

and a more open discussion. The horse is dead. Why keep beating it? There is no reason in maintaining intllib implementations let alone starting new ones. It is legacy code that should be kept while switching to a modern-times translation system (i.e., the built-in one) and then be removed without ...

Re: game_intllib - Re: [Mod] Internationalization Library [i

Futhermore, the intllib by @kaeza is a reliable and helpful tool and seems to be both robust and compliant to the GNU gettext tool chain. Keep in mind that intllib is entirely server-side and forces whatever locale is set on the server to the clients. So intllib is best for singleplayer or for serv...

Re: [Mod] Internationalization Library [intllib]

The reason actually is that paramat personally is uninterested in working on translations for MTG . I am totally OK with this. Time is a limited resource and in a FOSS project like MT you have to set your priorites like in most if not all of your activities. Absolutely. That was no criticism, it wa...

Re: [Mod] Internationalization Library [intllib]

The reason why the client-side translations are not used in Minetest Game atm is because only a minority cares about Minetest Game anymore, not because the system is bad. The reason actually is that paramat personally is uninterested in working on translations for MTG . MineClone 2 has been using t...

Re: [Mod] Hunger NG: A next generation hunger mod (hunger_ng

The 30 hud updates per second is too much, you should only call hud_change when the value actually changes. The problem is that the value could change all the time with every update. So I either check for changes and always change the HUD depending on the breath status or I add another player value...

Re: Recent forum and wiki downtime 2019-05-01...2019-05-03

I recommend searching your lost forum posts by their title on Google and using Google's cache to recover the content, and to do this in time before they delete it. How exactly does this work? I am not really experienced in using google. Just search for your mod’s forum post URL in your browsing his...

[Mod] Nodes for Pixelart based on palettes [pixelart]

If you go up to y=-600 deep and can not find a single diamond ore, this is not a challenge, it is a boredom. Yes, underground is boring without "underground mods". Below -1024 (or -1200? or whatever Mese starts spawning now) it is all the same down to -32000. And even there is nothing spe...

Re: Shouldn't Minetest 5.0.0 actually be called...

Yes, this is how it was justified afterwards. Minetest never used semantic versioning and does not use it with 5.0.0. The version number is just nonsense, or as Skulls said: "It's a number that goes up. Everything important is in the change log."
