Node placing is generally utterly broken even if we already have proper "where is the user pointing to exactly on the face".

Re: Removal of Nyan Cats: how to preserve them in worlds

No wy not Because the person/company who registered Nyan Cat as their trademark sues game creators over using the Nyan Cat meme the cat was removed. And as cheap drop-in replacement the pub was created. But almost everyone agreed that it just felt too needy and thus the cat and the pub were consens...

Re: I can not connect to some IRC channels...

Best thing is to write in in the server connection window/tab so in case anything goes wrong no potentially confidential data will be written to the currently active channel.

Re: Post your mod requests/ideas here

I'm pretty sure you can just manually insert HTTP headers into the request URL like this: Headers are a part of the transport protocol, data is a part of the payload and query strings are a part of the URL. You can't interchange them as you want. On-topic: yes. See extra_headers and post_data . htt...

Is there an on_use counter? A player needs to use a defined tool X times to get the achievement.

Re: [16px] Ambiguity

Lol... Adding one line of code is usually easier than installing a texture pack. Re: Emigrate from Github?

We should have never been on GitHub in the first place [...] True. I always dream of git.minetest.net for that. No matter if Gitea, GitLab CE or even a beautifully styled cgit. This would also allow hosting mods there making it super easy to have them integrated to Minetest via in-client mod librar...

Re: A server moderator crashed my client.

Why would ever run anything you don't need to as root? Sounds like you need your sudo privileges taken off you Beginner tutorials (strangely usually written by beginners, too) often tell the readers to use sudo to perform a task if the task fails for any reason. This unfortunately leaks through to ...

Re: Content database for in-menu installer - add your things

This release thing is so annoying. I’d love to contribute to the database but to me this is simply too much work to open up the database, register a new release and do stuff all the time … But I like the new consistency :) I wish it would be possible to simply add a Git link and the database automat...

Re: [Mod] Infinite Chest [infinite_chest] Never-ending chest

So if a mod has not been updated for a number of years, but still can be downloaded and used on the latest Minetest version, does that make it dead? Yes. Mods not being updated ever is a sign of a developer not developing the mod anymore. If it works: good, be happy with it. If it does not work you...

Re: Standard for Documenting Mod APIs, Options, Commands, et

I use a mix of LDoc and PHPDoc to document my code (at least most of the code). Not for parsing it to HTML or so but for documenting the code. To me documentation is as important as the code itself.
