Re: [SERVER] Extreme Survival Minetest [ESM5]

Things that crash the server Using the tpr or tphr commands. This one is pretty easy. Some guy named maikerumine (Oh, THAT guy <chuckle>) pasted in a code snippet to the teleport_request module, init.lua file, tpr_send and tphr_send local functions. The original with snippit is local function tpr_se...

Re: [SERVER] Extreme Survival Minetest [ESM5]

I believe I've found a reason why the elevator recipe had ruby blocks while the more advanced Travelnet booth had emerald blocks even though the mining level for ruby is much deeper than emerald. It turns out there is another way to get ruby blocks on the surface. There is a bright green "strange gr...

Re: [Server] Ravenchat Survival Server

There appears to be a problem with the technic mod chests. None of the technic locked chests will allow me to place or remove an item. The unlocked chests work just fine. I can use a pipeworks pipe to pipe items from a quarry into a technic locked chest but I can not manually remove an item from the...

Re: [Server] Ravenchat Survival Server

It is not possible to create homedecor:oil_extract because the recipe is overridden by the same recipe for noncubic:cylinder_horizontal_leaves. The craft guide shows six leaf nodes in the lower six slots fro the latter but you get the same if you use the upper six slots as shown for the former. Beca...

Re: [SERVER] Extreme Survival Minetest [ESM5]

Hi! Unfortunately, I have to complain about the huge lag... I hadn't brought that up yet because I assumed it was already being worked on as a high priority. It seems to be a data access and update lag instead of a network or comm lag. However, while certain types of functions lag, like many droppe...

...and made elevator a tad harder to make. :) <thud> My point was that the elevator was already much too hard to craft compared to the much more powerful travelnet. Before, you had to mine down to -3,000m to get 18 rubies to make your first two elevators compared to mining down to -4,000m to get 4 ...

Re: [SERVER] Extreme Survival Minetest [ESM5]

I wonder if the gem part of the recipes for travelnet:elevator and travelnet:travelnet are reversed. The elevator takes a ruby block while the travelnet takes both an emerald block and two infinium ingots. Emerald is available below -1,000m while ruby is available below -3,000m making the more restr...

Re: [Mod] Technic [0.4.16-dev] [technic]

Thank you all for your comments. Since they were all opinions or unsubstantiated declarations, I went and browsed through the technic code. It turns out that, by intended design, there is no restriction on where in a cable network you place the switching station. You do not need to place it between ...

Re: [Mod] Technic [0.4.16-dev] [technic]

It's possible that what you mean is that all the loads and all the generators must be placed in their own disjoint sub-nets that are joined by a single connection on which is located the switching station. Using the previous example: https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.php?mode=view&id=17194&si...

Re: [Mod] Technic [0.4.16-dev] [technic]

The switching stations works by taking in power and distributing power as needed to an appliance, so its the midpoint between power production and power use. If this explanation does't make sense to you i can quickly make a test technic setup and give you a screenshot. That's what doesn't make sens...

Re: [Mod] Technic [0.4.16-dev] [technic]

The switching station needs to be between the generator and the appliance. Thanks for your reply; it did work. However, could you be more specific as that requirement is not documented in the mod manual. Since all three nodes are connected together underneath, the physical placement of each node sh...

How do you place water so that you can make farm fields? It keeps telling me to not place water above 0 using a bucket. Since this isn't Denmark, farms are going to be above 0.

Re: [Mod] Elepower - A new powerful modpack [elepower]

How do you get lava_source into the fluid buffer of a lava generator? There doesn't seem to be a source machine to which you can connect the fluid_duct to get lava_source. There is no lava accumulator like there is a water accumulator.

Yes.... Using the Minetest Database virtual class that could, depending on compilation configuration, be a database-sqlite, database-leveldb, or database-redis database implementation class.

What's your point?

Re: Replace all instances of a node in the entire world

Nothing is ever impossible. Online, the server would need to expose an API that allowed a background task to run through all the nodes in the world to make the replacement. If such an API does not already exist, then the question is what would it take to do so. Replacing directly in the database wou...

Re: Replace all instances of a node in the entire world

That does not actually replace the nodes, it merely causes them to be treated like another node. What I want is actual, immediate, world-wide replacement.
