Yesterday I discovered a typo introduced late February 2018 which had caused additional slowness. This has been fixed as of May 9, 2018.

Yesterday I discovered a typo introduced late February 2018 which had caused additional slowness. This has been fixed as of May 9, 2018.

I just noticed that when I upgraded postgresql last, I had the config set up incorrectly, shared_buffers was set to 18MB instead of 18GB. I don't know what effect this typo would have had, but everything has been fine regardless.

Perhaps you've already done this, but I would suggest to reduce the Items' Entity Time To Live (item_entity_ttl); by default it is set to 900 (15mins)... Steam takes everything, including compiling from source, hacking existing mods to fit your needs, running a server and handling kicks and bans (and what mod to use for doing so, if you're allowed to use anything not associated with Steam accounts and VAC to begin with) yourself, setting it up on you...
