Me. I like having underground structures that do not get autogriefed by dungeon masters.

It would use their textures (the Minecraft default skin)... anyway, they're a really big company, so they wouldn't care that much about it (see the three Minecraft texture packs already posted). I wouldn't bet on it. Big companies usually have big legal departments. Also having stolen artwork looks...

The map is running for some time now, probably most of the hole was made by dungeon masters. There are always some people near the spawn point so DMs get activated a lot. Maybe one day they will dig too deep.

I don't think a sign will do the trick. I don't think you can really check that your automatically generated buildings are not turned to a pile of dust by some griefers. Well, there is one way: make a server mod that disallow harvesting of groups of blocks (= the buildings), but even you will proba...

Is there a way to distinguish auto generated buildings from player made content? Otherwise this gives a new excuse for griefing: "Oh that was your building? I assumed it to be some auto-generated place."

To change the map directory either set map-dir in your minetest.conf or pass the location as command line parameter (--map-dir <value>). No need for multiple installs.

That server has the fastest griefers so far. I built a tower and came back after about 20 minutes to find it destroyed. :-(

With a mutli platform open source client a verification of the client binary won't work. So the server has do do the checks.

Why use a bed to define a new spawn point? Is this some kind of insider joke?

I understand why you want doors, but why did beds of all furnitures make the top of your list? They can be made pretty easy from wood, sand or bedrock. Tables are much harder to simulate with blocks if you want a size matching with chairs made from one block.

Does the dungeon master destroy chests and furnaces, too? Just tried it. Yes, he also destroys non empty containers. Even locked chest. So hiding valuable items in the basement is no longer a good idea. Oh and the client crashes when the chest is shot while it is open. In thread 7f6acb3bd780: /Data...

The whole "more weapons and more mobs" will move the game away from what it is at the moment. From "build stuff together with other people" to "a RPG where you can change the landscape, too". I'd prefer the building part, there are enough RPGs out there already.

Show Required Version

With latest stable client all I get when connecting to some servers (eg. kray's) is:
Access denied. Reason: Your client is too old. Please upgrade.

It would be great if the error message would also include the version running on the server so I know which beta, preview or branch I need here.

isn't this how its meant to work? When you teleport are you ending up in the ground? I thought you could only move through the ground with free_move enabled or are you above ground when you teleport? If I teleport in the ground I'm stuck. But this is about open space. (Do do the test with the floor...

Stuck at border of the World

On a local server I teleported near the border of the world. 30990/0/0 is fine, can see another row of blocks towards X, then just the far mesh, But as soon as I walk to 30990.5/0/0 get stuck. Moving is no longer possible. Enabling free_move helps to get free again. Same effect at 0/0/-30975, 0/0/30...
