Re: Doctor Who Mod [REVIVED!] (WIP) Help needed!
Here's a generated TARDIS: https://i.imgur.com/pqXqTTD.jpg function log_pos(pos) minetest.log(minetest.pos_to_string(pos)) end function gen_sphere_points(pos, radius, hollow, stretch, ylevel) local ret = {} local min = (radius - hollow) * (radius - hollow) local max = radius * radius if stretch == n...

Well, it worked with the latest git, as of the 28th of august (this year)... so I think it should still work now.george90867 wrote:were do u put the file and what version of minetest?
And I think you have to put it in your "worlds" folder. See here: viewtopic.php?id=2622

So is it a ready to install mod or just a development file? I tried to put it the mods folder and nothing comes up =p Can't you try to give us a download for the beta or in-development mod you're doing? It's on the front page: https://github.com/MiJyn/minetest-dr-who If anyone wants to fork it, go ...

I watch Doctor Who and if there is anything I learned from that show is Daleks! Watch this video coming from Minecraft. http://youtu.be/EYdY9CBvQmc Tell me if this is possible to make in Minetest. AFAIK, yes, in fact, I started to make an all-around doctor who mod (which I abandoned, since I left m...

why? I doubt that it doesn't work, but it's definitely slow (lua is like the worst scripting language ever, in terms of speed, and yes, I do have some backing for that statement, AND alternatives... but, of course, people will say that I'm an idiot anyways, as always ._.) What alternatives would yo...

Java has a lot of overhead (slow). Provably false. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_performance Java does not work on some computers. There are probably far more computers Minetest doesn't work on, so this may not be a very good point of comparison. Java is a inferior game development language...

... EDIT: However, I will admit that Java OpenGL implementations still kind of suck at this point. The LWJGL framework that Minecraft uses is one of the best ones as far as I can tell, but more definitely needs to be done in the realm of 3D interfaces. What do you mean? I mean in terms of raw compu...

Ah. Movies and popular culture. Two things I am bad at. Same here, it's just that the matrix was recommended to me over and over so I just had to watch it :) Also, for some reason, I thought you were talking about my Java configuration (which is why I was being so stubborn that my configuration was...

No, you must have started you post before I edited mine. And I don't know what sort of pills you're talking about, but I don't do drugs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_pill_and_blue_pill And fine, just turn off every graphics setting in the config.cfg in terasology. If it's still slow, then you h...

My configuration is the default configuration. There's no reason why the default configuration would be (overly) slow. It's not my configuration that is the issue. Minetest is a faster game. Alright, I see, you want to take the blue pill. If that's it, then fine, but I just find it kind of annoying...

Terasology won't even run (in a playable manner) on my system, and Minetest runs much better than Minecraft. If Minetest is so poorly written (and I won't even try to debate this), it's not written poorly enough to outweigh it's faster C++ language. Minetest runs raster and on fewer resources than ...
