Funny 'cause that's the number I typed in!!!

It activates Skynet. I kid. I kid. Anyway, it allows the player (you) to play not one, but TWO instances of Minetest on a SINGLE (Yes, SINGLE!!!) computer!!! No more waiting for someone else to test your mod and tell you that something doesn't work!!! Of course, you might have to change the privs fo...

Cool Trick

I use this cool trick sometimes and I wanted to share it with the community. I think it would be useful for testing mods. It's kind of hackerish, but bear with me. I'm going to give the instructions for the linux client, but people using Windows shouldn't have a problem. Okay, here goes- 1.) Open up...

This is my first post that I've had in ages, so I hope this is worth it. Anyway, I had an idea that you could implement into your mod- Rather than damaging the player (because poison ivy doesn't kill you by touching your skin) like you were planning, make it so the player is unable to use any tools ...

Where's All The Coal?

First off, I know what coal looks like. That isn't the problem. I also know that you are supposed to mine the coal to collect it. Now that we got that out of the way, I'll tell you what the problem is- Coal is TOO rare for my tastes. I usually have to travel FAR (on my good days) to find some coal a...

John, you are right, I could code some crafting definitions, but, I am away from my normal pc, and I could do this in a day, but, like I said, I am out of the house for a few days. Whatever you can do to help is sufficient enough for this project. I think that we should just get a prototype working...

If we have enough coders, "a little bit" will become "a lot". After all, it's our passion that drives us to succeed at what we do, and I, for one, plan on making it to the top.

higher level languages are useless without the lower level language. Like windows is assembly then c/c++ without assembly they couldn't use c/++ then maybe without stuff like c/c++ they can't use java. You make a lot of sense. I think it is the game engine that needs to be changed, I think celeron ...

there something extremely similar to his for "minecraft" , its the merchant mod, does EXACTLY what your describing. and it lags BIG time. so its a cool idea just not realistic. let try and remember here that one of the reasons minetest was made was so people with older graphics cards coul...

Since you want a bartering system, you don't need a mod or feature, just have a server where that's the theme. I thought you meant like a coin purse in your inventory where it automatically keeps track of your coins and removes them when you buy something. And everyone used coins. And you can't mod...

Throwing Items?

On some of the Minetest videos I've seen, the player "throws" an item instead of dropping it. Anyone know how they did this?

Water Pressure (Not Water Flow Related!!!)

I was just swimming in the water and I thought to myself, "This game would be WAY more interesting if the player could get crushed by the pressure of the water surrounding him.". I think that there should be a pressure rating, which goes up as the player swims deeper. If the pressure is to...

Economy

There should be an in-game economical system where you can set areas to act like shops and pay others (whether it be NPCs or other players) to act as "workers". The "workers" get rewarded gold, which they can use to purchase new items, by performing a certain amount of work. The ...

Cave-ins

I'm not sure if this was talked about yet (too lazy to search), but I think that there should be a feature where the ceiling caves in if there isn't enough support. Anybody trapped underneath would be killed instantly. On a related note, I find it slightly annoying that blocks float in mid-air. I gu...
