Status: Boomtown (GameBoom's server)

Short intro... Gameboom is one of the longest running Minetest servers (since version 0.2.x). We had amazing creations by our users but most were decimated by griefers. This resulted in a number of changes to try to avoid the same issue (griefing). Goals of new world: ---------------------- 1- Move ...

Using a wiki for this is overcomplicated. It's OK for mod documentation, but not mod releases. Yes, I was referring to documentation about released mods not mod releases . Ex: So ModYXZ is stable and to make public you must add it to the wiki Mods directory. If your mod is not stable or private, it...

Request: Move completed mods to wiki

The forums are great. But they suck if you just want to find/download a specific mod. The wiki seems like a better tool to see all completed mods, source url, author, etc. I'm specifically talking about this page: http://wiki.minetest.com/wiki/Mod_list Then each mod could have their own page/topic w...

we are actually moving away from admins. i think people can govern themselves just fine, as long as they have the right tools. and the new economic society will deter griefers (i hope).

i think we can have both. our server wont allow fly or teleport commands, but i will leave fast and crafted teleports.

Great to see Bad and Ghost are back and i shall return as it was my favorite server, spent so much time working on projects there. Is there a chance the server will be updated to 0.4.5 and some the mods need an update too. Looking forward to finishing projects i was in the middle of we are currentl...

hi, we are coming up with a plan to deal with the griefers. gameboom is not dead, but needs change. some of the ideas floating around: 1- purchase of land from a central "bank": so in effect the bank owns the whole world. using the Nodex mod to establish a central exchange and extend it to...

the plan for the future is to let the server's users vote for their own admins. the admins will handle land/territory disputes and assign claimed land -- no more. the server itself will be economic-driven. i'm not sure how many admins we'll need and there's no website for setting this up yet.

Nope. It's the same failed reboot of 0.2.x world. What is needed is to save individual peices like the chessboard prior to change over to 0.4.0 dev with worldedit then email the files to their creators or if the original creator's wish cut and paste into the new world. that would take a long time, ...

GameBoom's server is looking for city planners and veteran builders

As some of you know, our MT server has suffered a lot lately and has been crashing a lot. I really think it's due to the ancient map we are using -- and I think it's time to rebuild. But rebuild right. For this new rebuilt server, I would like to create a "Spawn City" near 0,0,0, a static ...

We tested a few re-created worlds, but most users weren't happy with the mapgen. So we decided to leave the old world --which is originally from 0.2.x but ported to 0.3.x and now 0.4.x. Nature mod is nice but the trees were growing abnormally tall and blooming was insane :) I left a few features in ...
