The game closes out when I switch skins due to the error
. . . init.lua:158: attempt to call field 'explode_textlist_event'(a nil value). I looked on the dev wiki, and that is not even a real function, as I cannot find anything. You will have to use a different function. Maybe 'explode_table_event'?

A great way to troll someone with this mod would be to knock out the torches behind them while they are mining, knock out the torches in their house when they have run out of coal, etc.

I encounter errors with the mods and I cannot play! I am using minetest 0.4.9 on linux. I got an error with More Blocks mod that seems to have to do with the loading of other lua files, because I commented them out and those errors stopped . . . . only to encounter errors with master_technic on the ...

You can actually do this without modifying the game's settings; its in the modding API. I am making a science mod that adds stuff like anti gravity to the game. You can also just make the character jump higher but have the gravity remain the same.

Just off the top of my head... Have you checked the texture name? You have it listed with a semicolon in it. Is that how you have the actual file name? The texture should just be the file name.
