Re: [Modpack] Help [1.0.0] [doc]

When I click the "Tools and weapons" button in the main help screen, the server crashes with an internal error. I'm running 0.4.15 and the latest version of the doc modpack. I can reproduce the bug on separate minetest builds. Crash log: 2017-02-02 21:03:51: ERROR[Main]: ServerError: Async...

Re: [Mod] Bows V3r2 [bows]

I love your work! These bows are very elegant. I'm however getting an error that crashes the server (running 0.4.14) Any idea how to fix this? 2016-10-28 19:58:35: ERROR[Main]: ServerError: Lua: Runtime error from mod '' in callback luaentity_Step(): /home/me/.minetest/mods/bows/items_functions.lua:...

Re: [Mod]Death Messages[0.1.2 beta][death_messages]

I love this mod! Adds a lot of fun to dying. Deathmessages spamming the chat when player is taking damage would be nice to see fixed, as SaKeL mentions. The spam loop also occurs when dying in lava. Also, I wrote some more death messages (most of the original ones are included in this list) that can...

Re: Barkhouse Survival Server

Thank's a lot for your thorough feedback, Sokomine! I have completely rewritten the server thread, as I have realised the original text was a lot more excluding rather than including and inviting. It did not reflect how I want the server to be perceived.

Re: Improving server performance / Database backends

Ok, so I installed libleveldb-dev , and managed to successfully compile minetest from source using the DENABLE_LEVELDB-flag with the help of Calinou's 1-line compile script (Thanks Calinou!) When I'm trying to migrate my existing map to LevelDB, I get the following error: $ minetestserver --migrate ...

Re: Improving server performance / Database backends

Thanks for the reply. I guess I made this seem more difficult in my head than it was. So if I instead want to migrate an existing world I can run (with minetest not running) minetestserver --migrate leveldb path/to/world? I have discovered that LevelDB must be installed, and then I have to compile m...

Improving server performance / Database backends

I've been running my server, Barkhouse, for almost a year now, and haven't experienced any particular issues with lag during this time. In the last month, however, I have been starting to get lag spikes about every 5-10 seconds (mainly when players are moving into unloaded chunks), lasting a couple ...

Re: Post your mod requests/ideas here

[Mod suggestion] Challenge player to fight [challenge] I do not know lua well enough to code this myself, so I figured I'd post the idea here. Maybe someone will pick it up. This mod allows players to challenge each other to a fight, by issuing command /challenge <player> or /challenge_team <player...

Re: [Mod] Report [0.1] [report] - Send to admins and mods

This mod is great! Easy to use and very useful indeed. May I suggest to include the reporting players coordinates in the report, so that reports look like this: <player>: report "Someone griefed my house" at X Y Z This would normally make it easier for admins and mods to know where to star...

Re: [Mod] X-Decor [git] [xdecor]

Warning to server admins running xdecor: https://github.com/minetest-mods/xdecor/issues/48

I temporarily solved the issue by commenting out the right-click function on node xdecor:chair in xdecor/nodes.lua.

Re: [Mod] Real Chess Game [git] [realchess]

I love this mod! The fact that other players can watch the game makes it even cooler. I found a couple of bugs, and I have some suggestions for improvement. * Bug: A player that is in check or check mate is not forced to move/protect the king. * Bug: Game doesn't end when player is in check mate. * ...

Re: [Mod] X-Decor [git] [xdecor]

Thank you! That did the trick :D I'm having another issue: default:meselamp_microslab (i.e. meselamp that has been chopped up on workbench) doesn't exist anymore. I partly solved the issue by commenting out the bottom lines of this paragraph in workbench.lua -- Nodes allowed to be cut. -- Only the r...

Re: [Mod] Unified Inventory [git][unified_inventory]

The waypoints function is truly elegant!

Idea: When the player dies, a waypoint is created at the location of the bones, and removed when the bones are picked up.

Re: [Mod] X-Decor [git] [xdecor]

When I updated xdecor, loads of my buildings broke because xdecor:cobble_wall_(variants: "ln","c1" and "c2") is missing. Does anyone know how to get them back?

Re: Post your modding questions here

Would it be possible to create an NPC as a node, and not as an object?

The reason I would like to do this: I want to place talking NPC's that add a backstory to the world. You know, with interactive dialogue. I don't want to replace them everytime I run /clearobjects.

Ah, there they are! It works like a charm, and functionality is very close to my suggestion above. I will definitely use this for now. Re: Post your mod requests/ideas here

That sounds like a nice approach! But your mod seems to have old and broken / unavailable dependencies. I can't get it to work.
