How to contribute best?
I lately saw and also wrote to multiple topics about how to improve the review process of PRs or what the core devs can do better: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=25507 https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=25514 https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=25417 But what if the core d...

Re: New project managment proposal
When it comes to creating features, I already have a full roadmap in place for what I want to work on. I have no problem with that whatsoever. I think that the real problem is I don't know where to focus when it comes to reviewing PRs. It's basically a find something that looks interesting and revi...

Re: New project managment proposal
There is already the "assign" function for that, the problem is that is not respected. See here Yep, and only core devs can assign themselves. There should also be a normal way for contributors Uhm, I don't think it's a good approach: I mean, if something is simply bad for the project, ok...

Re: New project managment proposal
Tagging if a Issues Idea is accepted(to develop) That's already been done, it's "Supported by core dev" , but as you can see Paramat is the only one placing that tag. And not because he's the only one entitled to, but because others don't. Yep, but the important part is that you accept th...

Re: New project managment proposal
Guys... I don't think this topic should be about who is in charge and who not. I think it should fix the main Problem of a too slow review process. The management should just make clear who is responsible for reviewing what. The new content is a other thing as we currently can't handle the amount of...

Re: [Mod] SQLite Ban [sban]
I'm currently dockerizing my server. Because of lsqlite3 I sadly couldn't use the official minetest docker server image, but needed to create an own one. You can find the minetest server image with lsqlite3 on the Docker Hub or the Dockerfile for it on Github Just wanted to drop this here if anybody...

Re: Serverlist Statistic
This also has a huge impact on the 0.4.x vs. 5.x series
dev are protocol version 35 and 36. Only 36 is significant.

Now 0.4.x is even more popular than 5.x
But what are these "lost 36th"?
They are a very huge group.

Yep you are right! I added the Protocol Versions to the top post. And this is the Cleaned Effective Version (protocol 35 and 36 subtracted) https://i.postimg.cc/q777D4zJ/Cleaned-Effective-Version.png Do you know what are all these version 36 players? I mean it's an unreleased version, why should som...

Re: Serverlist Statistic
I'm curious why the graph for client versions shows that 5.0 clients vastly outnumber those of 0.4.x? Everytime that I scroll through the server list, I notice that 40-50% of the servers with 4 or more players are Minetest 0.4.x, which means the clients must also be legacy. So how is it possible th...

Partly and other Forks on Android and iOS.
As new Multicraft versions have it’s own server list they aren’t rated so much.

Re: Serverlist Statistic
Most of the players on my server use the Multicraft client or some other iOS client. And overall, Multicraft severs tend to dominate the server list. So I suspect these statistics are heavily skewed by not properly accounting for iOS. Yep that’s sadly true! You could also have a look at the source ...

Re: Serverlist Statistic
Multiple times, you show two graphs - absolute numbers and percentages - in the same image. Yep, to show where the new clients come from. You can see for example that Linux clients increased and Windows clients stagnate. When only seeing the percentage you could think the clients decrease. What's t...

Serverlist Statistic
I wanted to have some nice graphs to show how minetest developed. These Statistics are based on the fetches to the official minetest serverlist. The statistics are generated from 10 day logs. So these statistics are NOT exact and can have huge inaccuracy. Total Fetches in this 10 days. https://i.pos...

Re: [Mod] VPS Blocker [vps_blocker]
Trying to answer... Everything else is 3rd-party guesswork. Maybe, but it's pretty accurate (in my case). Can't be a good friend if his account is stolen and used for miscevious things. And if the accounts are that lightly protected against abuse (that is: almost not at all), then the server and its...

Re: [Mod] VPS Blocker [vps_blocker]
I know that blocking vpns/proxies is not automaticly blocking all bad players. Anyway it help preventing players who want to bypass a ban. Yes you can change your ip very-very easiely. Anyway the ip than will still route to the same place so you can get location (about) of the player. So manual chec...

Re: Subgames for all! a Minigame Server [Back!]
Select all the files in subgames-media-master->media and copy put them in your minetest-folder/cache/media folder.
You can also try(if you haven't already):
enable_remote_media_server = false

In your minetest folder cache -> media.
Just put the files from the downloaded media folder there.

Re: Subgames for all! a Minigame Server [Back!]
Hmm thats strange...
Which server do you tried to join? The old or the new one?
Try setting in your minetest.conf:
enable_remote_media_server = false
If that doesn't help just download the media from here
Just copy the content of the media folder to your media cache.

Did you tried it multiple times?CosmosNebula wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 19:28I tried joining the server, but "Media" is stuck at 0%. What should I do?
Did you wait long enough?
This is a problem all servers have, I just have a lot of media which could be the reason for this.

Thats's what I said before Currently only registration-auth is working As you see it's Got Hello Auth Method: legacy/srp And not first_srp You currently can only do registration login which means you have to choose a account which weren't registrated yet. All other stuff seems to be done correct!
