We can't pretend like we are in 90-2...

Re: New main menu design - feedback requested
I disagree with design in this topic, it has potential to be confusing and complex, feels like current design we have already is good enough, but what I've suggested long ago was showcasing Content DB by merging it with Addons tab (and doing slight rework).

Re: "not enough memory" random crash?
This issue deserves a lot of attention, I've seen many times those strange OOMs with modpacks that somehow reported very little memory usage.

Re: Other, Superior Open Source Game Engines Exist Now... :D
Before switching engines you have to ask yourself: Is it worth it? And how Irrlicht holding you back with minetest, is it a serious problem? In case of serious problem, you can fork irrlicht and fix minetest related problems, that will need more hands at it for sure. Switching engines will need conc...

Big problem in MTG is lack of mobs in it, add even a few and that will completely change the feel of the game.

Re: MT 0.4.17.1 Memory
Try this GC64 build that avoids memory problems: https://kitsunemimi.pw/tmp/minetest-0.4 ... 4-win64.7z
Or use minetest with regular lua, by default minetest uses luajit that can only use 1gb of RAM.
