Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute (Minetest S3 Engine)
Been a loooong time since I've been here. Logged in to the forum fine. Can't get into MustTest. Can't remember name of SK's server. If found, I won't bother logging in as me.
Btw, Hi folks. Loooong time no see. Hope y'all doing fine.

Re: MineTest Browser
Now this would be cool. Imagine how many players MT might get if players did not have try to go through the hassle of trying to install software on daddy's work computer. Bored kids in an office can make employees mad at the boss. The brats would have something to do other than stand around and reac...

Re: Can I do a live backup of a leveldb world?
Yes. Doing database backups with the MT server shut down is best. Pretty fast if you use solid state drives also. Editing the database while it's live is not recommended either. SK - From what I've read about Leveldb, I don't see why backups and editing shouldn't work. But better safe than sorry. Th...

Re: Let's talk about combat
Stone swords should shatter into rubble the first time they hit anything. Diamond swords should be removed from the game.

Exotic Building A few weeks ago I began working on building a mansion in the server, inspired by a few great houses, specifically one built by iisu. So I went off and made my own version. And thankfully I had the idea of taking a screenshot on each step I took so you can follow along with me! (P.S:...

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
You crashed it also? Double trouble today. I'm reading an Ebook while trying to stay awake a few more hours. I've recently found a website where I downloaded about 40 Ebooks to expand on series that I hadn't bought all of the real books before publishers quit making real books. I hate Ebooks but bet...

Re: Does the current Minetest seem too easy?
Easy? Yes it is easy. Easy to get disconnected from the server due to bad connection, log back in and discover you died and EASILY lost EVERYTHING BEING CARRIED because there are NO BONES !!! Died on ladder or something. IDK but I gave up on MT. Sick of that crap. I die in World of Warcraft more oft...

Re: Lag01
That's the same problem I have. It does not seem to matter if there are 30 or 2 players. It still happens. If 100% on the CPU, maybe too many mobs? Though I well remember long ago the large hordes of mobs out in the wilds and the server was fine. These giant stone mobs you got are a nuisance as I'm ...

It's a mess
The server is unresponsive to /status command. Map isn't Fully loading either. While climbing, I'm banging my head into nothing but air. Can not craft cart rails
And they are not in the crafting guide.
Why are items in the crafting guide that we can't craft? Like desert stone and a lot of other items.

Lag - The server is unplayable tonight. Extreme lag 10 seconds or more and frequent disconnects.

Portals
Portals don't seem to work consistently. Old ones (from before the server shut down for a long time) and new ones recently built. I can stand near them for a long time, hit them, jump up and down, etc, and nothing happens. Later I can stand still for a few seconds opening a chest and suddenly be 'po...

Commercial Hacked Client
I had a good laugh today playing Minetest. Someone logged into the JustTest server and announced that he/she was using a commercial hacker client. (I will not mention the name of that client.) I assume it was the creator of the client trying to drum up sales. Very quickly, I saw that the player got ...

Re: Better support for multicore CPUs
A server with few players and running few mods that don't do much as fast. The game engine starts lugging when you pile on lots of players, CPU-intensive mods, and a clogged network pipeline. After 2? years I forget most of the details. I remember (maybe) that areas of the map would operate slowly i...

Re: Better support for multicore CPUs
Minetest is slow. Anyone that says otherwise is talking trash. I'm reading a lot of forum messages discussing how things CAN"T be done, but relatively few on possible ways in which things CAN be done I have a Intel i7-3820 cpu, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX560 (now a GTX 660), HDD & a SSD. A now da...

Re: Connection timeout in my own server!
It's worse when it happens with the server and client on the same machine! That was using the loopback IP address also. Definitely a WTH moment :/ My guess is that the server is very busy 'doing something'. Maybe you have more network traffic than your network connection can handle? Run a monitor to...
