Re: [Tool] Minetest Media Server Java Edition Early Alpha

> This is something I see inexperienced software developers do Do no expect me to be experienced. I am not even 18 yrs old. So, why not approach those with far more experience and knowledge, and also when they offer you advice, follow it.? Rather than continuously want to go against their offers of...

Re: Post your screenshots!

The following shots expose an area approximately 3.5 km long by about 1 km wide. They are from two seperate time periods, with some mod editing done in between, which accounts for the different flora layouts. This is from my own favorite seed, (shown in screenie), with some edits to the default v7 ...

Re: Recent forum and wiki downtime 2019-05-01...2019-05-03

@Fixer @uwu The backup size for the forum and wikis is currently at about 5GB. If you think the community might trust you with an encrypted backup and you're up for setting up the receiving end (including limited ssh access, the necessary cron jobs to prune old backups on your end and whatever else...

Re: Post your screenshots!

"Reflexion Hill" from "Raging Earth" tweaking of Valleys. The name of this tweaking stems from the fact that its terrain is probably the most dangerous and treacherous one I've encountered so far. I lost several in-game characters because of sudden unexpected downcasts, hidden p...

Re: [Mod] Gears and axles [gear3d] [0.2] [WIP]

With the latest screenshot stu, I believe you may have pushed Minetest out of puberty :D
I really have to find some time to play with this, I have not even had time to fire up anything MT/MTG related the last couple months

Re: Header For MTG

Where do the images set within the font come from?
Are they your own creation? It is a question which needs to be asked.

The 2d down does look nice
The only critique I can offer is, the Header should fit with the game graphics.
But that is my own opinion

Re: Node Box Editor [0.9.2]

For what you are attempting to achieve here, you would be better off using models, not nodeboxes.

Re: [Mod] Interactive Physics (Sneak Peak) [physics]

Very impressive!

This could be useful for projectile flight as well (arrows and spears) possibly even throwing axes and daggers, I think.
The possibilities are flooding the brain right now

Re: MineClone 2 Unofficial Official Textures

Which is also a far better license, so I strongly suggest to relicense everything to something like that. FTR, I don't know about whether relicensing cc-by-sa-2.0 to cc-by-sa-4.0 is allowed, which would be worth checking. As far as I know it is fine... it is basically updating to the most recent ve...

Re: Most complete texture packs?

The texture packs section needs serious cleaning and organizing work. I have offered to assist if wanted. I am sure eventually this will be tended too, one way or another. It would definitely help on the CDB end for sorting. But as of now, you're stuck with taking the time to rummage through the clu...

Re: Minetest 5.0 release candidate 1 (5.0.0-rc1)

Also idk if its a bug or feature but when I press space on water I don't only go upwards but forward as well, and with shift I go move backward and down, that happens when flying too its so annoying. That would be the new pitch type flying mode, enabled with L button. I would've thought it'd be dis...

Re: What's Minetest still missing over Minecraft?

Wouldn't a better question be... what can Minetest have , which minecraft does not? That is the way of thinking I would most love to see happening, rather than comparing to minecraft any longer... It has been going on for so long now. It's time to start focusing on and pushing toward having differen...

Re: "Inappropriate" content on ContentDB

ContentDB is gonna start getting a little plump So, what happens if a mod (or whatever) is already accepted onto CDB, has already been checked out, approved, categorized, etc... and then the developer pushes some changes, which add blood/gore, strong language, adult content...? How can a situation l...

Re: "Inappropriate" content on ContentDB

Stuff is inappropriate if it would directly harm or threaten real people (hate speech, doxxing) There is no such thing as "hate speech" (at least not in the U.S. which is acknowledged, legally.) The reason for this sort of filtering, is to do the best to not expose minor children to certa...

Re: [Mod]Red Trees 1.2 [redtrees]

Best argument as to why plain old .zip files are not the best way to contribute to an open source project. And the best reason they should not be acceptable. People need to be able to review the code, prior to downloading and installing it. Even texture packs can hold little secrets... backdoor scri...

Re: Pain points when using Minetest

It's not only about a doc system but "obligate" the developers to write it. I have to disagree with this. Writing documentation can become a time consuming process, which will definitely slow development even more. In a "paid" environment, this is a fair part of procedure but, i...
