Been testing it, crashes as soon i get to the bridge (i think), using: 0.4.dev-20120326
Might be that i haven't installed minecraft texture pack?

Got all mods that are needed.

too bad about: You should Sign Up or Login to download this file

I won't sign up to grab the file. Would recommend another way to share this file.

Then you might have built from wrong git adress. Which on do you see when building it?

Think you might only use: https://github.com/Oblomov/minetest.git
That will make it use branch=master, you need to use branch=sound, or you wont get sound support.

Tried that too.

When starting minetest, do you have:

use audio=1 ?

Means atleast your minetest is built with sound support.

I built minetest with sound in Foresight Linux. First you must make sure you have libvorbis-devel 1.3.* installed, cant be 1.2.* or it won't work. Also add the sound in folder: /usr/share/minetest/sounds/ So not in a /data/ folder, that won't work either. Make sure you have right names of the sound ...

I recommend tar.gz or tar.bz2 for common linux users. or even tar.xz to get them highly compressed.
But it's up to you to decide, and thanks again

I used file-roller to compress/extract this archive , try to look if you have 7zip installed . even re-downloaded file, still cant open it in with file-roller or peazip. peazip can be used as standalone application and can't open it. Think its compressed with some paramters that my system maybe don...

Thank you, that was the problem. used jthread 1.3.0 and setup with cmake. reverted to 1.2.1 and use a normal configure, make, makeinstall and now minetest works.

Thank you for the pointer, appriciated alot. Possible now to make a package in Foresight Linux for all users :)
