Re: Minetest 0.4.17.1 (Bugfix release)
When will the version come for OpenSuse? I have already been waiting it for a week. Если ты не админ сервера, то обновляться особо и не надо. Также, попробуй неофициальные репозитории, коих у сюзи полно. If you're not a server admin, you don't really need that to update. Also, try unnoficial reposi...

Re: Minetest 0.4.17.1 (Bugfix release)
Changed to 0.4.x. Thanks for your kind contribution but rubenwardy is entirely right in his last statement: 0.4.16 -> 0.5.0 is correct as 0.4.17.x are backported releases Any 0.4.x releases after 0.4.16 are such that were taken from the ongoing development of 0.5.0 (backports), which itself is base...

Re: Emigrate from Github?
Really can Microsoft delete all Minetest repositories are stored on GitHub?But what for? Minetest repositiries are very many on GitHub and i doubt they will seek and delete each repo. And what is it going to buy this for? Из реп удалят майнтест и запихнут ссылки на minecraft.net. ^^ They will remov...

Re: Emigrate from Github?
I've moved to GitLab, this is my repository https://gitlab.com/h4mlet The GitHub repository will no longer be updated, but it will stay as it is for Minetest Forum's and Content Database's sake. Needless to say, my vote goes to https://gitlab.com/ I though about making my private git server, but I ...

Emigrate from Github?
http://www.opennet.ru/opennews/art.shtml?num=48696 https://habr.com/post/413067/ Microsoft wants to buy Github, where Minetest repos are hosted. Look at my logic: Microsoft buys Minecraft -> Microsoft buys Github -> Microsoft hates Minetest (because cannot buy it) -> Microsoft can ban "minetest...

Re: Content database for in-menu installer - add your things
Good, but I think it's bad idea to include a whole browser for a small website. I would recommend to add API and through that make a "Mods" menu like in older minetest versions. No browser is included in Minetest - there's a content installer menu instead, similar to the one in older vers...

Re: MT Server-Client Communication encrypted ?
Without google: 1) Not encrypting the connection would make the server vulnerable to Denial Of Service attacks. If anybody asks "why", the short answer is "IP spoofing" and the long answer is very long. Yes, IP spoofing is still possible on the internet. 2) Encryption also makes...

Re: Client-side translations
You have made the translation code way more complex than it has to be. Delete translator.lua, Minetest Game does not need this backwards-compability. And no, no library is needed. I think your mistake was that you did not put the TR files into a directory named “locale”. EDIT: I just realized this ...

Boom !
BTW, such a connection would probably allow 3rds to (a) just insert junk/malicious stuff into connection or (b) identify clients + monitor their activity

Probably one wants to send government's super secret documents through minetest. Or he is probably a terrorist.Krock wrote:Why? Do you plan to share your credit card details on a server?
