Re: Minetest - Education Version

I used it for two years as a full time class (grades 1-4) and it went well - so long as you don't over mod the game. The more mods you add the more likely you'll have bugs and crashes when you you get 20-30 users on. I created some custom mods too, like US Currency to teach and demonstrate basic eco...

Re: [Mod] Classroom [0.1][classroom]

I tried for a few yrs to do something educational, and did actual classes in school for 2 years, all day long with kids simply building and exploring with currency added - building models from their town including an actual model for their school. It faded out with the incoming of new admins, but it...

Re: [Mod] Laptop (WIP) (V. 0.39)

You have to download extra pages from https://github.com/Gerold55/minebrowse-sites They also have to be placed into the apps folder. It has been done this way so people can pick and choose the websites that they want I LOVE IT - I can use this in the edu game I've been working on for sometime now. ...

Re: [Mod] Laptop (WIP) (V. 0.39)

I don't get it - I downloaded the new version to try MineBrowse and there are no pages listed (like in the screen shot). Are the pages hosted remotely? Am I missing something?

Re: [mod] Prehistoric Life [0.2] [prehistoric_life]

Actually, I went back in and looked at what happens when I use the mod. The dinos ARE using my lightning texture, though I never set that up. Its defaulting to it automatically, so I never noticed any 'missing blood' texture. Is blood working for other mobs?

I think there's already one or two weather mods out there with varying degrees of control. I remember playing with them last year sometime. It was not automated but it was still fun to turn on lightning and thunder and rain and snow...

Use a bittorrent program to download the zip file.
And use an open source bittorrent client like Deluge or Transmission, for your own safety.

Im running a server for a school, but command blocks don't work unless the user that placed them is logged in? Is this a bug or intentional? Can it be 'always on'?

Re: Post your mod requests/ideas here

So I'm trying to figure out how I can do cutscenes in the game. Even if it was simply static graphics with text balloons, it could be useful in the classroom. I've seen png's in form specs. Isn't there an easy way I could just throw a graphic in a form spec without anything but possibly a continue o...

Re: [mod] Prehistoric Life [0.2] [prehistoric_life]

So in the meanwhile can't a person simply create a blood graphic to be inserted into the textures folder? I play the game with elementary students and I always replace the blood graphics with little tiny lightning bolts. Serves as a reminder that we're just playing a game, lol.

Re: [mod] Vehicles [vehicles]

One thing this mod lacks (as far as I know) is the player who place the vehicle doesn't 'own' it. Is there a way to turn on or add ownership? This mod is almost perfect otherwise. I play with elementary students who steal each others cars when this mod is used.
