Re: Topic move requests

I'm a bit confused about how this works - how would I for example, start a forum anew? Would I post this question here even or somewhere else? Here is my WIP mod forum: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=30291 - but I wish to rename it to "Dynamic Input-Held Eating" and remove all...

Unfortunately, translations for settings added by mods/games is not possible currently. In anticipation of this being supported, you could add setting titles and descriptions to your .tr files

Re: Minetest 5.8.0

Hello! I have a question or suggestion. Could you add water reflections as a shader directly in Minetest? Or can you only do this via a mod? Please give me a short answer. Thanks Hey, there's a modified version of Minetest with water reflections here: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=29887

Re: Minetest Major Breakages

stop reading initial properties from bare entity def - this makes sense, though entity code can be some of the most complex so we need a very clear transition path. Are there deprecation warnings in place? They should go in A.S.A.P. A word of caution: that one can lead to vicious bugs. I noticed th...

Re: Need help understanding object initial_properties

I've apparently been out of the loop for how to properly define initial object properties. It's been deprecated for a very long time to define initial properties outside of the initial_properties table. https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/9650 My first question is why does the initial_propert...

Re: Minetest Major Breakages

I do not know what the "`game.conf` name/id mess" is. I believe it goes back to a comment by Rubenwardy , where there's multiple names for the same thing. I couldn't find any reference to "game id" but as noted in current docs , title and name are two keys that mean the same thi...

Maybe this gives a little hope: New options for distributing iOS apps from alternative app marketplaces
This only applies to the EU, and Apple is maliciously complying - charging app devs $0.10 per install

Re: ContentDB - now with package translation support

That’s neat! It’s a bit hidden right now and makes no sense yet, but once we can translate mods with modern translation workflows everything will start being better. Well, you can translate NodeCore, Piranesi, and Exile on Weblate. They convert to and from other formats to achieve this. For other p...

Re: ContentDB - now with package translation support

Maybe also add a field for authors to add a link to where people can translate the mod. So not only a Git link and a website link, but also a translation link. This is already supported as part of the recent translations work: https://rwdy.uk/rJknz.png There's also a page where you can find package...

Assuming you're using Minetest and not Multicraft, then it should be visible and installable on mac

Multicraft uses a different content website so won't find things from the official Minetest ContentDB. Please contact Multicraft for Multicraft support, not us

Re: ContentDB - now with package translation support

ContentDB now supports package translations! The title and short description of a package can now be translated into other languages. This is shown both on the web and inside Minetest (from v5.9+). https://rwdy.uk/imlGW.png ContentDB will read translation files (.tr) inside package zip files. To tr...

Re: CVE-2022-35978

I do not yet know if the patch has been backported into Minetest 5.4.1 on Trisquel or 5.3.0 on Hyperbola yet. That's the risk of using incredibly outdated versions. I'd also suggest that you don't use a distro that doesn't monitor CVEs. 5.3.0 also has remote execution vulnerabilities, see the secur...

ContentDB doesn't modify .zip files that you upload. Here's one of the folders: Image

Newer releases don't have the folders at all

There's an issue with how you're making the zip files

Re: Content Data base deleting my folders.

The zip file you uploaded contains empty folders. Minetest extracts files from .zip files, and won't create empty folders. If you add files to these folders (like you have in the latest git) it should work
