Waypoints
I am a builder online, ie I like to make villages, castles etc rather than fight monsters and fall and die. That said, I do a lot of exploration in my worlds and I cannot find out what exactly waypoints are for. I like having a "home" base to be able to teleport to, but I had thought by se...

Mod-Interface problem
This is a problem which started when I added a mod which had dependencies I was unable to provide, I could not find them for some reason. After enabling some mods and having the game crash I discovered that much of my world had "unknown nodes" all over the place and I have been unenabling ...

Re: Lumberjacks
Thanks, that makes sense, although it looks weird as hell. I wonder if you can explain "mts schematics" for me a bit? I use the Dreambuilder pack because it worked well on this used laptop of mine and it has lots of things I use to build my "settlements". Eventually I hope to hos...

So I have MT 0.4.16, and Dreambuilder Modpack...I started exploring a new world... been working on light rail designs connecting coastal settlements.. suddenly I came to a location on an extension of land which was heavily forested where all the trees for the equivalent of a couple of acres have bee...

Re: How to not pass thru walls
My big fat fingers must have hit that key... I'd suggest renaming the "feature" to "spook mode". Thanks guys for helping out an old man with fat fingers and too much time on his hands....

How to not pass thru walls
This is odd, but recently I have been unable to stop at solid surfaces. I am using creative mode, just building cities etc, but this week suddenly I find I can pass thru walls and floors like they weren't there, although everything goes to wireframe and weird looking until I get back in the open. I ...

Dead Zones and Borders
Moving along I find that I have been encountering odd areas bounded by straight lines beyond which is only blackness on the minimap and dead air on the screen... movement is impossible except to go back. Like a black impenetrable curtain. These areas are geometric, always bounded by straight lines, ...

Re: Blinking reality
hmmm I have no problem with files opening... It might be the graphics here...this is a converted laptop I got form my sister in law, ran rotten under windows but when I turned it into a Kubuntu machine it is working fast and stable.
Re: Carts
My problem was that the documentation was sparse and unclear. When I tried to delete a cart pressing the shift key+ left mouse... as soon as you press the shift key the viewer drops and the object is no longer in my sights... then I have to use the space bar to rise up again, aim at the cart and som...
Carts
I recently got excited about laying light rail next to my roads. Great fun...except what do you do when the rails/block under a powered cart goes away and now the cart will not move for lack of track, but you can't put track underneath it and it seems you cannot erase the unwanted cart. I tried push...

Re: Blinking reality
Well I went to Dreambuilder as my only MOD and the weird blocks went away. My house IS haunted, so maybe the spirits got into the game.

Blinking reality
Okay... Kubuntu 17.04, Minetest 0.4.16, Dreambuilder mod pack.... got it installed, working and so forth and then, lately, sometimes it suddenly switches from day to night for a brief second. Certain objects seem to flicker out of existence briefly, sometimes they seem to briefly become wire frame, ...

Re: Post your screenshots!
Now this one I find interesting. Wandering across a "busy" area I came upon an island with rich, verdant fields and ponds and such on one side, a huge wall running across the place and on the other side is a snow-covered mountainous region which looks like it could be the home of frost gia...

Re: Floating mountains
Back when I used an Amiga I had a program which made landscapes in 3D and you could use b/w pictures as the template by using the grayscale values as altitude. I used a nude shot once and the created landscape was great, covered in trees and snow on the mountains and when you did a flyover you gradu...

Floating mountains
Yup, a non-techy player, an old man in fact... but I have a lot of time on my hands and I enjoy creating cities. I'd like to make a world without floating mountains or mountains that look like a lava lamp exploded. So far I can't figure out how to do this, could someone help me? I am using ver 0.4.1...

Educational uses
I am a retired CADD tech and have been using MT as a design tool, working on kitchen designs and home designs, passive solar building etc. I also am a sculptor, primarily in ceramics and just for fun I made a simple updraft kiln and filled it with fire to see it work, which of course it does not...n...

Thanks much. Interestingly enough the floating mountains seem to be the same mountains every time I teleport, even in different worlds.

Artifacts after teleporting
screenshot_20170416_061017.png I have been exploring using teleporting to get me out of deep shafts etc, and whenever I do it produces a strange floating mirage of a mountain. It has the same shape and general location on the screen as the first area I teleport out from but it cannot be approached ...

Here's another shot of the Helgo house. The settlement is spread all over the island and is pretty much the only populated area in the world.

I am connecting various settlements with roadways but the river still is a great way to get around. Now I need to learn how to design a Viking longship which will sail. Any suggestions?

Re: Post your screenshots!
I have a background in civil engineering so I like to use Minetest as a sort of CADD program for designing settlements and homes.
