I guess i will start with a plan of around 50-60 GB. Then, if it will be necessary, i will just migrate to a server with more storage. No one can know a number beforehand as i see.
Thank's everyone for the help!

Re: How much storage space is needed for a small to medium server?
my 'only' files, mods - without database is about 600 MB even if you have only ONE gamer, just running out all map ... that can get 60-150 GB so, difficult to imagine (out of tricks to blackout small servers ...) Excuse me, what do you mean by "just running out all map"? The case that the...

How much storage space is needed for a small to medium server?
I think of renting VPS in order to host a Minetest server across with using it for other things too. The Minetest server is not intended to serve more than 20 clients concurrently and won't have more than 30 lightweight mods. From your experience how much storage space would i need if i intend to ru...

Re: [Server] Blocky Survival: The unique server
@saavedra29 That is intentional. The anvil only repairs basic metal tools, you need to use an Equipment Reformer from the terumet mod to repair more advanced items. OK rheo, thank you. Unfortunately there is yet no good way to get quick info about a game's element in Minetest that would save time d...

The anvil doesn't repair a diamond pickaxe, but it repairs fine tools made from iron. Is it supposed to happen or is it a bug?

Re: [Server] Blocky Survival: The unique server
Hello. I accidentally placed an areasprotector:protector_small node. Do you know how can i remove it?
I've tried with hand and pickaxe and it doesn't work.

Re: [Mod] Throwing, PilzAdam version [throwing]
Hello, thank's for this great code. I'm making some changes to fit it in my own needs. But since i focus on realism i want to make it impossible for the bow to reload and shoot if at least (for example) 2 seconds haven't past since the last shot. But on this mod i can shoot every single moment i pr...

Re: How can the minetest community be made bigger?
For a community to be big it needs a big development team. If the players increase but the develpment team stays stable it's a matter of time for the project to collapse. I would suggest, if some core developers have spare time, to do some kind of "online conference" with topic i.e. "...

Re: Maybe another approach on anticheating?
I developed a fairly comprehensive cheat analysis script for my server. It tracks several types of suspicious activity and generates a comprehensive report each day, allowing me to weed potential suspects. Altho it doesn't catch small-time offenders (which is fine since there's a higher risk of fal...

Re: [Server] HOMETOWN
Could the moderators organize a competition game? For example a treasure hunting game? You could place a sign at a place with 3 directions to other signs. These signs would have again 2-3 directions to other or some of the previous signs. Some of the signs (random) would have coordinates of the hidd...

Re: Maybe another approach on anticheating?
It would be a violation of the LGPL to send a client binary with the private key unless source code is included (this would include the private key, as it is used to create the end binary). And anyway, a dedicated cheater could extract the private key from the provided binaries. Ways to prevent thi...

Re: Maybe another approach on anticheating?
OK, let's forget about CSM. Say it never existed, no flags, nothing. And let's assume that the admin knows how to compile the code for the operating systems he wants to support. The source code is published in Github in a way where before running the compiler command you have to set the private key ...

Re: Maybe another approach on anticheating?
How exactly would your idea work? Either I missed something or you did not mention what exactly would happen after the server generated a custom version of the client. Will it be downloaded? How will the server decide the target operating system and architecture? How does a custom client prevent CS...

Maybe another approach on anticheating?
I was about to make public a server i'm preparing the last days with focus mainly on realism, survival and PvP. But this is suspended (or maybe cancelled) as i discovered suddenly how rediculously easy to create a cheat client. I read some threads on the server about anticheating, and all of them fo...

Re: Split bags from Unified Inventory?
We already have https://github.com/cornernote/minetest-bags as separate bags on actual servers. I would like to see option to at least disable bags in unified inventory for use in survival servers. I just saw that it can be configured with "unified_inventory_bags = false" at the minetest....

Re: Shouldn't ores reserves be proporsional to the depth?
I created a libreoffice calc (Excel) file for easy calculation of ores registers and for keeping the total amount of them fairly stable. The "Factor per register" is: Y_node_size(height of register) * clust_num_ores / scarcity. And the "Factor" is: Factor_per_register_1 + Factor_...
