Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

Thanks! Just trying to figure out how it all works. :) Been tinkering with various customizations of my own and additional mods.

Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

I notice that the parameters for ice spread got altered on Oct 1. Does this make ice spread slower? It seems really difficult to farm ice. Just curious if these are the intended parameters.

Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

Still loving this game, jas. Thank you.

I've brought my Thrive Lavaland minetest server back up online with a new world. For now I've got pvp disabled, and I've also added another shop/vending machine mod I like. I may continue to tinker with my own customizations.

Re: [Server] Lavaland

I updated today and was very surprised to see the obsidian converting to stone, then stone to cobblestone, when near water. Took me awhile to figure out what I was seeing. Good change! By the way, how about making it possible to craft nine coins back into a gold ingot? Otherwise useless coins tend t...

Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

We're seeing a situation on our family server where every time someone connects, they take a big hit to health, knocking down to about 2 hearts left. It seems very consistent. Any chance this is fixed in the latest updates?

Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

I've noticed a lot of griefers who want to show up and do pvp and then disappear. I disabled pvp on my server - it might be nice to have protection disable pvp in the protected area. They also seem to enjoy digging the obsidian out from underneath players to make them fall into lava. But that become...

Re: [Game] Lavaland -- A flat lava mapgen

I really love the game mechanic where minerals appear as lava cools. That needs to get reused in some other games, I think! And I also really love the need to break down stone in various ways to get what you need: stone near water to break down into mossy cobblestone and then dirt; stone to break do...

Re: [Server] Lavaland

Mikuden's shop is amazing! Btw, I got stuck the other day in spawn - every time I respawned my hunger was immediately knocked down to zero and my health followed shortly after. I'm not sure what's wrong there. I tried a second player and got the same results. I was finally able to get out of spawn b...

Re: List of useless items in Minetest Game

I terraformed an entire island into a farm and used marram grass as fuel for smelting the ores I dug up for tools and for cooking bread. A stack of 99 marram grass is somewhat useful. Allowed me to reserve my coal for torches.

Re: [Mod] Mint & Automatic Commerce Machines [mint]

The Dropbox link for this module's code no longer works. Does anyone have a copy?

I've been looking through several currency and exchange mods and this one has the best concept I've seen!

Re: [Mod] Global Item Exchange [global_exchange]

I found a newer version with some updates and bug fixes:

https://github.com/nybble41/global_exchange

I haven't tried that fork, yet, but I have done some local tinkering and bugfixing on my own system. Getting the currency payout to work is a good first step.

Re: How can I store and search a large tabel from a mod?

That might be a great improvement for the mod or mods that were using this (global_exchange is the one I am trying to use). Right now I'm not sure how anyone gets these to run on Windows, if possible.

Re: [Mod] Global Item Exchange [global_exchange]

Great mod, but installation on Windows is so far impossible for me, and I'm observing some issues once installed under Linux. Primarily, I'm seeing the same problem SaKeL reported: income never shows up. Once I tweaked the interval and added some debugging statements it showed up for awhile. It look...

Re: How can I store and search a large tabel from a mod?

It sounds like luarocks can manage both 64 bit and 32 bit installs, but I guess when I used the /L option for the luarocks install I got a 32 bit version and that's it. I guess I have to go get a full 64 bit lua to make this work, or switch to 32 bit minetest

Re: How can I store and search a large tabel from a mod?

Switching to 64 I was able to build a 64 bit sqlite3.lib with VS's link command as described above, but then luarocks throws a lot of unrecognized symbol errors trying to use it. My luarocks is installed in Program Files (x86) so I assume it is 32 bit, and this seemed to be the only version availabl...
