How would that be different from riding a mob_horse ?
You're right hajo, using TenPlus's mobs_redo mod is possible in a simple way to make a ridable mob using the bicycle model. I didn't pictured it but I will try azekill_DIABLO mod first.

Good mod, also I'm thinking that you can extend it to allow use of pre-made images to do as cover sheet or at least one image. This can personalize more the player's bed, as a sort of bed "skin".

Sounds good idea, doing a game with an objetive to get/found through exploration, dechipering some enigma, etc. can attract some kind of player that want it.
