Very nice, save the greenish green of the grass. The architectural design is calling for some life to be added :)

It would enrich enormously alpine environments, especially if the tree schematics are somewhat varied. Think about it :)

Re: Clear Sky... but not so nice this time

Has anybody any idea on what might make MT stop taking screenshots of terrain, and record only bare skybox? I have not changed any settings and trying to fix the problem through changing screenshot folder or format was to no avail. Well, the solution came quicker than I might have expected... when ...

Hello, I added new version of the bricks.

Craft is the same.

Better version, bigger bricks:
IMO you could try to make the texture more seamless at the vertical edges, otherwise both versions are almost perfect. Maybe I'll credit your work as the cause of my return to building in MT :) Thanks

Great, at last it works on cave ice :)) Thanks a lot, excellent job done. BTW can you tell me what is the texture pack you used in the screenshot in the topic's head? It looks as a really good artistic work.

Re: Minetest Game: polish, improvements and "game juice".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=216_5nu4aVQ It’s not only about the visuals. Although I wouldn't say that screen shake is a feature that should be necessarily implemented (certainly in case of TNT blasts it would make for a much better experience), Super Mario discussed among other games in this vi...

Re: Minetest Game: polish, improvements and "game juice".

Visuals, sounds etc. are of course important, but they are more of a cosmetic value and imo could be easily ceded to the modders/content creators. There are some other issues that imo need to be addressed if MT is even to be an easily moddable piece of software. Modders definitely shouldn't bother a...

Re: Damage inflicted by speed, not height

Thinking about it, also related: collision detection callback. Entity collision detection entirely via callback in Minetest S3. :) The callback receives both old_vel and new_vel as well as the axis of collision, so it would be easy to inflict damage based on speed. I will see about opening a PR and...

Re: Increase Render Distance?

You need to increase the 'max_block_generate_distance' setting as well as 'max_block_send_distance'. And how to prevent rendered blocks from unloading from memory? It seems to me that the interface changed in advanced options section in the main menu in the latest version and increasing time of unl...

Re: Post your Screenshots of Terrain!

Lots of options, fairly speedy, under 2 second ongen. Help, comments, or suggestions welcome. Shad Interesting, well done. Re: Post your Screenshots of Terrain!

Voronoi influenced mapgen. Voronoi patchworks are very useful in a number of real-life applications and it's a very interesting and somewhat 'natural' idea to make use of them in terrain generation. But a practical question arises about the unavoidable shortcomings of this method -- how fast is it ...

My mapgen project is making progress, I now have a simulation of erosion during pre-processing, which gives a more natural-looking terrain.
