Re: Minetest UI en menu look
Minetest needs an automatic scalable GUI. Looks horrible on 4K and other monitors by default. I don't care what kind of font is the default although obviously one that looks nice should be, but the most important thing is for the GUI/HUD to scale properly regardless of resolution. Mineclone and othe...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
So this is what I was thinking for part of the main menu overhaul as far as a resolution chooser is concerned: https://i.ibb.co/0nN3swZ/Menu-idea.png I moved the elements around to put the resolution chooser and "Autosave Screen Size" checkbox together at the beginning of the settings as I...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
These are the resolutions I've come up with so far for minetest/builtin/mainmenu/tab_settings.lua: local labels = { resolutions = { fgettext("5120x1440 (32:9)"), fgettext("3840x2160 (16:9)"), fgettext("3840x1080 (32:9)"), fgettext("3440x1440 (21:9)"), fgettext...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
Also @sfan5 I doubt this is helpful as I'm sure you know already, but just in case (and for anyone else), here are my steps for compiling Minetest with the new Irrlicht dependency. After installing the package dependencies for Ubuntu listed on the Minetest compilation instruction page, I did: git cl...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
Was able to compile it. I was dumb and didn't read fully. x3 After tweaking things, I was able to get things to look okay, but obviously scaling the GUI evenly somehow should be easier for users. I noticed a few things: DPI is broken on Linux. Fixing this might allow even scaling for all GUI element...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
I can't figure out how to do any of that besides setting it to fullscreen go to all settings type "screen size" in the search . I could not get it to scale right in previous versions so i know how frustrating it is , took a lot of fiddling about with the settings before i was happy with t...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
Or perhaps windowed mode is preventing that auto-detection, if there is a full screen mode that works better? yeah stick it in fullscreen, option on the main settings page. i am using fhd 1920 - 1080 gforce gtx 970m the 1920 registers but have to add the 1080 manually otherwise i get a strip along ...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
go to all settings and increase the font size That definitely helps, thanks! It's a little bit ugly until proper scaling is implemented for resizing everything, not just the text, but it's definitely lots better! ^n.n^ all settings ,graphics, menu, gui scaling . have a fiddle with those settings en...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
You can click the button in the top right to update all content: https://rwdy.uk/13AYi.png Installed content also always appears first. The content tab doesn't show updates currently because it doesn't know about them - it's only when you open the online content dialog that it loads the data from t...

Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed
I love Minetest in that it's open and moddable, but the main menu organization, presentation, and looks sorely need an overhaul. It also needs a menu scaling option for higher resolution monitors. I read around in the forums and read similar complaints as well as the idea of having the main menu be ...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.49.0]
Version 0.49.0 is here! This is the first version to support Minetest 5.0.0. The changelog is small, basically it only makes the neccessary compability fixes. Changelog: Update player model Update a lot of deprecated functions Restrict generation of v6 ice spikes to snow blocks (tundra biome) Make ...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.48.0]
Hi, I was tring to install this subgame on my server. After placing it in the game folder I edited world.mt with the game name, when I join the server all the texture are missing and after a short time the server crashes. Can someone explain to me the proper way to set everything up? The wiki isn't...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.48.0]
Can't wait to see this appear in the game section in Minetest 5.0.0! Not sure how things are sorted, the UI could really use some love, but the best or most popular mod packs should definitely be highest on the list including at least one Minecraft clone. Also a way to browse other mods that are com...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.29.1]
Why not just find a texture pack that is close to the original Minecraft textures? Perhaps one of the "high-res" packs that are supposed to look similar to the original but higher resolution? Many things in this game dont support resulutions higher than 16x16 (like the mob heads). Ah, wel...

If anyone wants to contribute to the making of the MineClone community textures click the link below. https://github.com/Gerold55/MineClone-2-Textures There are a crazy number of texture packs that were made for Minecraft by modders. Why not just find a texture pack that is close to the original Mi...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.29.1]
Hi all! :3
How close is MineClone 2 to a Minecraft clone (say around Minecraft version 1.6 or so feature-wise)? What are the areas that are missing or are the most sore and need fixing the most at this point in order to get it to being nearly identical?
Thanks!

Re: [Game] Clonecraft & Clonecraft Classic [Clonecraft][v1]
Is this the leading Minecraft-clone mod bundle for Minetest, or are there other parallel efforts going on? :3 Which areas in particular are lacking in and preventing a nearly identical clone of Minecraft (version ~1.6 or so?)? Like if you had to summarize what is left that really needs to be done, ...
