is it possible to obtain a vmanip of an area that hasnt been emerged or generated yet? if yes, will the singlenode mapgen eventually overwrite it with air?

it would be nice to have a board under mods for api/libs since those are mods that are meant to be installed only as dependencyes and are, most of the time, only relevant for modders themselves. it would be also easyer to find if someone already came up with a solution for a common problem

huum, this solution seems a bit intensive.. having to keep calling get_node_or_nil until its not nil seems a bit... hacky. ive been thinking about using mod_store to store the mapblocks that have been generated instead... not sure how that would perform if a huge part of the map gets explored though

Who in their right mind would ever choose to get the sticks?? Sticks are renewable, steel and mese are not. exaclty... here's an idea: when a tool breaks it gets replaced by 1 tool handle and 1 tool "head". the head part can be smelted back into less bars and the tool handle can be used like a stick

Nice floatlands! I love the surface of the islands. It does have some odd flat spots with no grass and kind of looks like they are ripping a bit on some slopes though but it is better than blobby or almost totally smooth gradients. is it possible to check if a mapblock exists? when i generate my mapblocks i want to check if a mapblock below it exists, and if it does, update its lighting... when traveling upwards (+y) mapblocks will be lit by sunlight, and generating a new mapblock above it wont cast its shadows

you could drop those zip files and just work on a dev branch, leting people clone the stable master branch, once the dev is stable enough you can merge it, this makes it a lot easyer for people to update the mod with a git pull

I thought there was a private message system. Where is it? Or did I confuse it with something else? - However, no idea what to do if the block was destroyed by some other means. i think its worth pointing out in the instructions that lsqlite3 needs sqlite3, and for those that install it from the repos, they will need to install the devel version that comes with the header file. for me it was libsqlite3-dev. only then i was able to luarocks install lsqlite3

A lot of the newer boxes have very little number of completed players. The lowest is... 5 players! does this counter increase if the same player finishes the box more than once ? sometimes i play my boxes again to see if i can break them in any way after an update or when i think there is an issue....

im not a fan of this level of detail on nodeboxes, but i apreciate very much that you have the idea of modularity for your mods, and have denied some requests to add more stuff. keep it up with good modular mods =)
