Re: Truly infinite worlds (poll)

Hume2, this idea was already mentioned in various topics but is finally not usable because 1) Objects can stand in between nodes, so we would need likely a 128 bit floating point number for such big maps (takes much computing time) 2) Breaks the map format. It would need a conversion from old to ne...

Re: Sound of water

I think one easy to implement and important for overall ambience feature is still missing in default game. I mean the sound of flowing water near streams, the sound of waves one the shores and the one of burbling water in the vicinity of rapids. There's a mod that introduces some sounds of that kin...

Re: [Mod] Farming Redo [1.37] [farming]

Hey TenPlus1 :D
I like your mod very much, it's wonderful
I simply like how the fruits can act as seeds, it's very practical
It would be wonderful if you could farm flowers as well.
Best regards ;)

Re: Minetest 5.0.0 is on the road

I think that 0.5.1 would be a nice opportunity to introduce mobs as native features. Having a formspec replacement and a better networking code would be nice too - oh and please a native realms API. Would be lovely. What works in commercial projects with TODOs and deadlines doesn't work out that we...

Re: Minetest 5.0.0 is on the road

I think that 0.5.1... All that talking about version numbers, and you goofed it up right afterwords :-P Oh man, I was just so hyped by the news of a major release four or five months ago And only discovered before yesterday that the number changed :') I went everywhere speaking "OMG! 0.5.0 is ...

Graphical settings in-game

Hello there, I got a question.
Why isn't possible to change graphical settings in-game?
Maybe it's Irrlicht-related?
Is it possible to make those settings changeable without the need to close the game, access the main menu, change settings and then restart the game?

Re: MTGame: 3 hoe types deprecated for eventual removal

It is one of those weird cases, when you feel weird with all those useless hoes, and now you remove them, but that feel doesn't go away :/ You: I need to say goodbye... Hoes: But we want to stay with you! You: No... It's hard, but your time has come... Hoes: Please don't abandon us! We can still be...

Re: Minetest 5.0.0 is on the road

Man, I came across this topic and it was impossible to not laugh near the end. Seriously, for me, it's just a number switch. C'mon, even calling the previous versions with that zero at the start, it would take years to be used (to change by one!), so that zero cannot be more useless than it is right...

Re: Minetest Logo

Am I the only one who is not satisfied with Minetest's logo? I've been tinkering, and I came up with a Moka based icon. http://i.imgur.com/LFXLMlL.png Man, I think that the Minetest logo is just very good because: It's flat design (which, in my opinion, gives it a modern look) It shows the essence ...

Re: Minetest is golden age of Minecraft

In my opinion Minetest's way of handling mods is better worse than Minecraft's because: One single wrong character in ANY of the mods unrecoverably crashes the whole game/server. But programming is all about this in general... God... I remember my college homeworks last year about C language and me...

Re: Is there a way to know if lava is next?

What you found was a 'cavern' which is different to the smaller 'large caves' that sometimes contain lava. Understood, I cant lie about being scared of that giant infinite darkness in underground, I looked at the minimap and saw a big green mark and thought "What the hell is going on??". ...

Is there a way to know if lava is next?

Hello! My first topic here ;) Sometimes, when playing Minetest, I tried to find lava lakes to make a Nether portal (I have a Nether mod installed) . But then, the wiki says that lava are generated below Y = -273 (except for mg v6, but I never use v6) . https://wiki.minetest.net/Lava I digged down un...

Re: Some number keys not working

My keyboard follows the Brazilian Portuguese ABNT2 Layout (which is QWERTY) Minetest in WIndows environment can accept characters with accent (like à ã õ ô é) But when running Minetest on Linux Ubuntu 17.04 when trying to write those characters, i get an accent and the character separately. ("ã...
