Using [cntr] - '+' will let you increase the viewing/loading range. It will load them so you can see it.

Re: Other, Superior Open Source Game Engines Exist Now... :D

The biggest issue with Godot I see, is that that it requires modern OpenGL (>= 3.3). Which is required for many of those modern features everyone rages about. But that leaves support for old hardware in the dust. I play Minetest because it's one of the modern games I can actually play, that and STK....

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

Also, these mods should be based on creating a game, not modifying a game. So any testing should be done primarily on 'Minimal development test' and only dependencies to these mods should be allowed. Obviously, the mod shouldn't conflict with Vanilla Minetest. I'm not sure about the corals added in ...

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

A mod pack is definitely the way to go. Just make sure the the individual mods do not end up depending on one another... they should only depend on the main mod (and default, if need be) You want users to be able to pick and choose each individual mod within the pack to suit their taste... and un-t...

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

Could we also use cook 'kelp blocks' into 'dried kelp blocks' and craft with that like wood, maybe 'dried kelp blocks' could be in group wood, or we can make new recipes. Would it be better to create a new modpack on github/gitlab and develop one mod at a time, leaving this xocean mod as is? If we d...

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

Hmmm maybe I sould make some type of ocean copper, it could be used for things like doors, chests, signs. Good idea, would it be possible to have some sort of ore that spawns only in water? Under water ore deposits are oft called nodules, mostly manganese nodules, see this site https://www.wealthda...

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

I could try modding some ocean decorations. We could start modularising it into smaller mods to make a modpack. Ocean decorations could include underwater doors, signs, lamps, etc. I'd be willing to mod, but once I leave for school in September someone else should take over.

Re: Modding Competition: Oceans

My main goal of this competition was to improve oceans, not give away 10$ (check UCP inbox). So it would be cool to eventually have an OceanTest game. But to start we could start with an ocean modpack. Would anyone be interrested in that? The modpack could include (for example): airtanks, pontoons, ...

Re: Modding Competition: Oceans

And I have evaluated the mods First Place xocean Would be better as a mod pack, but great job. Second Place Airtanks Excellent work, extremely useful. Third Place xblox Has more than just ocean material, but the ocean blocks are cool. Fourth Place Pontoons I'd change the defaults but quite useful. F...

Re: Modding Competition: Oceans

I have finished ranking all the mods Tides 5 out of 10 I appreciate what people are trying to do, pushing the Minetest engine, doing similar proof of concepts. But I wasn't able to get it to work. And even if it did work, it has the side-effects of removing all other water. And doesn't add much to o...

Re: [Mod]Ocean [xocean][2.0]

I could re-submit your mod. But I know there is one mod you are replacing with this one. So AFAIK you are submitting Ocean [xocean] and XBlox. I will add them. Unless those aren't right. There is just some confusion as to which mods you are submitting. P.S. Xblox doesn't have a repository listed on ...

Your mod is 'submitted' but I would prefer if you posted your submission to the competition yourself. It helps from not jumping all over the forums looking for your mod. Thanks.
