I think the OpenGL ES 1 driver is broken in this regard.
On my phone ogles1 also renders the game upside down when using undersampling, but ogles2 works fine (tested with MT 5.4.2).
Try v2 (ogles2 video driver under All Settings).

I noticed that you can open chests and doors with a pickaxe again but the changes didn't mentioned that, so thanks for this fix :)

Re: [MOD] Brewing (Magic) (WIP) [v0.18]
Ah, iirc some assets were NC. But the github repo doesn't mention any such license, there is the GPLv3 here https://github.com/runsy/brewing/blob/master/brewing/LICENSE and the Apache 2.0 here (without line breaks for some reason) https://github.com/runsy/brewing/blob/master/brewing/license/license....

Re: Minetest mapserver
Is it possible to run mapserver in a different folder, or does it expect world.mt in the same folder as itself? I'm asking because I like to run all daemons on my server under their own account with only those permissions they really need. Also, do I need a separate binary for every world folder or ...

Re: [Mod] Technic [0.4.16-dev] [technic]
Why do some recipes require default sand explicitly instead of any sand item?
For example stone_dust and silicon_wafer, you can't craft them with silver sand.
Is this intentional?

Re: Problems on setting up server
So it seems you're behind CGNAT and want to access your home server with this NATAPP thing. The site has no english version but judging by Google Translate it seems like this is some proprietary program to forward connections from the internet to your home net (intranet/LAN). You'll have to search t...

Re: Unable to join server, first time playing
If you wouldn't have to enter a password on first join, how should the server protect that account from being played by someone else?

Re: How to uninstall Minetest compiled from source
When building from source, I'd always make it run in place as the repo suggests:
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/#compiling
Then you can just toss the folder when it's obsolete.
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/#compiling
Code: Select all
cmake . -DRUN_IN_PLACE=TRUE

Are there bad seeds?
I've sometimes read people saying a map they started was bad because the seed was bad. Is this even possible? I'd assume that no matter what seed you start with, the overall map features will on average be the same across the entire map. Are some seeds really better than others or is that just an il...

Re: [MOD] Ethereal NG [1.27] [ethereal]
T6C, you can see which mod an item came from by pointing at it, hitting F5 and looking at the item string on the top right, after "pointed: ". And I agree with acidzebra, you should install mods yourself. Having one set of mods provided by a system package and another set downloaded by you...

Re: [MOD] Ethereal NG [1.27] [ethereal]
I just tested a new world with "ethereal.mesa = 0" in creative mode, but redwood still shows up in the inventory.
The reason I ask is because when I'd add this to a server and an item shows up in the craft guide that isn't in the world, it would be confusing for players.

Re: [MOD] Ethereal NG [1.27] [ethereal]
Got a question for TenPlus1: When disabling biomes in settings.conf, for example "ethereal.mesa = 0" so that redwood doesn't spawn, it's still registered in the game. Would it be possible to make the registering function respect settings.conf so it doesn't register items that aren't spawne...

I'm thinking about adding this to my server. It runs the valleys mapgen with caverealms-lite. Will it work?
I tested it briefly on a new world and the only issue was tree bases sometimes overhanging on a tall cliff.

minetest.net serves invalid cert
https://minetest.net serves an invalid, self-signed TLS-cert. Instead, the certificate for the main website (www.minetest.net) should include "minetest.net" in its LetsEncrypt-cert and do a 301 redirect from minetest.net -> www.minetest.net. Since afaik celeron55 manages the website, only ...

Re: Should we "advertise" Minetest better ?
As long as the official client is worse than other clients (and the download ratio implies it is) there is nothing we can do except improving the official client. Advertising is important, but it’s only a small part. The download count of an app doesn't say anything about its quality, and advertise...

Compressing PostgreSQL dumps with zstd
If you're running a Minetest server, you're maybe using the Postgres backend for its reliability and speed. You're hopefully a good admin who makes regular dumps of the database. But what is the best way to do so? Postgres gives us four types of output formats with its built-in pg_dump command: p (p...
