Re: Minetesthosting is a Joke? Any REAL GSPs that offer hosting?
Just get a static ip from your isp and host it yourself with a ddwrt or synology router, and use esxi with bitnami or turnkey linux and run sever and builds in vm on a seperate low spec box. Or synology router and server and use docker or vm. I am confused on how easily an ISP would do this for you...

Re: [Mod] Flower Beds [flowerbeds]
I like your idea of the mod and how your flower beds are looking too. :)
I think this is a much experience growing out flowers than what the game currently provides.

Re: Minetest Game will be debundled in 5.8.0
I'll suggest again to bundle Wuzzy's tutorial, which is good as-is and could be adapted a bit to guide new users either to the Contents tab or the "Join server" tab. New users who cannot figure out by themselves how to download a game or that they can play on public servers certainly need...

Re: is the Minetest vesion in the software store of Discover safe?
Exactly take Discover as like your Phone Directory, ContentDB, Search Engine and etc.
You can NORMALLY trusts them without concerns. It's the CONTENT you need to have to decide, try, test and/or etc.

I was able to log in and play all day yesterday and today it just doesn't let get in. Also a player was able to log in today as their user even though I /ban them yesterda...

Successfully Starting a Minetest Server on Apline Linux?
I would like to start a Minetest server on Apline Linux for cost constraint reasons but I couldn't find any documentations on how to do this once you apk add minetest-server to the VPS I can't find minetest folder nor the debug.txt logs just a .conf in /etc/minetest and that was it. Is there a full ...

ABMs Lagging My Server No Matter Which Mod(s) I Tried
I tried so many mods that uses these and all of them are lagging my server considerably. Consistently giving me that going over 201ms and only processing so much at a time warnings. The mod(s) I tried thus far were just Farming Redo Mobs redo with animals and monsters Creatura with Animalia or Dwarf...

Re: [Server] Exploring, crafting, mining, building, and farming.
MG Villages was confusing for no apparent reasons, I brought a plot and I still couldn't even use the land on the plot itself.
So I removed it.

Re: [??] Appears as many mod names in my custom game
Thanks very much to everyone for the great suggestions! It turns out after much testing that the sole cause of the problems is the "Animalia" mod: https://github.com/ElCeejo/animalia and / or it's dependency, "Creatura": https://github.com/ElCeejo/creatura When these are disable...

Just my guess but are there any differences between mods using mod.conf verses depends.txt?
That might be why you are seeing these question marks in the Unified Inventory mod maybe?

Re: Client /profiler for Default is Fast, But Not Headless Server?
I think the underlying issue without added mods to the default game, you only get a "dump" of lag values. So you better hope you did /status at just the right times, during the right conditions, etc. I found out while I was trying to tune my server and working with the host you might need...

Re: Client /profiler for Default is Fast, But Not Headless Server?
Just a note, you can't always get the exact CPU, GPU, memory models as they might be obscured/hidden by the host's hypervisor. It will tell you basics like CPU frequency though. Here's a neofetch from my usual cloud server: 5 sec search in internet: * benchmark-your-vps-or-dedicated-server * how-to...

Re: Client /profiler for Default is Fast, But Not Headless Server?
As you still did not provide any basic results of the server usage (CPU RAM) I can't help you further. As I just run a testing server under a 2 Thread, 2 GHz, 4 GB DDR3 'server' with default settings with also no problems beside the real fast server ... I am sure you didn't find the problem yet. Si...

Re: Client /profiler for Default is Fast, But Not Headless Server?
OKAY so I THINK I "captured" the lag in it's place by kept on lowering the curl timeout from 2000ms to 200ms. Along these settings as welll... max_packets_per_iteration = 512 map_compression_level_net = 3 map_compression_level_disk = 3 max_objects_per_block = 128 sqlite_synchronous = 1 ded...

Re: Client /profiler for Default is Fast, But Not Headless Server?
Thanks for all of the pointers especially you Festus, of course the game provider is blaming this on the game and that plants, leafdecay, etc is a ingame setting that needs to be changed. But they don't have the experiences to support that. EVEN THOUGH they promised a full diagnosis of the default g...

I am very confused here, why would my in game client running the server fast but not my headless server?
I am very confused here, considering my provider have considerably better hardware than I do.
