Re: [survey results] Features people want the most + MTG thoughts
... Playeranim implemented by default * What you mean? Player models are animatable. There's just no default player model. But this makes sense, given the nature of MT. We can't expect all games to use the same blocky 3D player model. ... Hmm? Are you saying that we might create a model in a progra...

Re: What's the best material for making a space station?
From the creative point of view, no material is the best: it always depends on how you use it. The shape can very effectively help, but some colors seem to belong more than others. Probably, the easiest to obtain a sci-fi effect is bakedclay:white, that has - as a plus - the fact that provides stair...

Re: Promoting Minetest
Oh, right, on a serious note, I've been translating the modding book in Italian so that more people can learn how to develop in Minetest easily. This is how a good community works. :) ... So if English is not your first language, you should consider translating it! It was a pleasure, in fact, when ...

Re: Promoting Minetest
To give back to the community and promoting MineTest I am currently trying to make my very first videos hoping that they might help understanding its potentiality from the creative point of view: tutorials, howtos, explorations. I am sloooow , but not giving up: 5 clips in 3 months time! For a total...

Re: Promoting Minetest
I think promotion and advertisement is overrated. Having a moderate sized good community, as we do, is far better than a huge and therefore unpleasant community, like Minecraft. The mistake is starting from the assumption that more users is automatically better. Definitely. I totally agree. Who car...

Smooth movements to record a session
I am trying to record a few explorations but I always face the same problem: movements are never smooth. I already have configured the 2 cinematic settings. Are there any recommendations / best practices to record an exploration? ...And... are there any plugins available in Shotcut/Openshot/KDEnLive...

Re: [SURVEY] What's the feature you'd like to see improved the most?
What's the thing you'd like to see implemented/improved the most? Why? (CHOOSE ONE AND ONE ONLY) Nodes management. I use Minetest in creative mode only because I believe Minetest IS my very first 3D pencil . For instance, I would like to use all the nodes defined in Shara's RGB mod using the marvel...

(First of all: thank you for this great mod!!) A small typo. Last night, on my Manjaro Linux box, the MT 5.2 upgrade was available and got automatically installed. This morning my local server did not run. debug.txt pointed to line 20 of other_worlds/space_asteroids.lua. Changing default:stone_with_...

I have always wanted to say it: THANK YOU!
Linking books are so great that you should make them available as a mod, so that others might be able to simply add them to their maps, maybe from contentdb.
Again: thank you!

If anyone is ready to attend a couple of creative classes on stairs and slabs... HERE is my 1st attempt to provide a tutorial to the community. I hope that it might be helpful to newbies and that experienced builders might reconsider a quite underrated mod such as Multinode Gates . Addi as well! ;)

First of all: THANK YOU!
I have been playing with your mod for quite a while and very wonderful and magic things can be done with it!
The only feature I miss is a way to visualize a previously introduced area: that would be definitely a +10!!!

For Arch you need nothing special because the system isn't that heavy modified. Just make sure you have the needed dependencies installed. cmake tells you what's missing. git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/minetest/minetest.git cd minetest git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/minetest/minetes...

Re: [Mod] MultiHome [multihome]
I am on MT 04.17.1 and when I set the multihome.max setting in minetest.conf to have up to 10 homes an error has occurred.
After line 5
I solved it by just adding a quick fix
After line 5
Code: Select all
local max = minetest.setting_get("multihome.max") or 5
Code: Select all
max = tonumber(max)
