I tryed it once as a server it runs but there is a little lag some times. So yes you can use it as a server for minetest.
As for what cosarara97 said as far as i know it was using opengl, It did say at the top of the window OpenGL 2.1.

I have a raspberry pi, I have tryed to run the game on it but with no success. The games will work on the device but it is not play able, The FPS is between 0 - 1. The game does run i little better with the older versions of the game. but even the menu is slow selecting a box to tick it take about 4...
