Thanks for looking at it Wuzzy. I'm using the build from minetest/devs in Linux Mint 18.3. I've discovered that when launching the Windows version of Minetest with Wine, the game is slower and I don't have the bug anymore while keeping your genuine code. So it should be related to my Linux Minetest ...
