Good idea! Is there a reference sheet on config options? I'm unsure on how to do that, being new to modding minetest and all (not new to programming though :P).

There is a chat command to toggle it already - //hud :-)

I should probably document it in this forum post as well as the readme :P

Oh, sorry, I forgot that binaculars and maps are in the bleeding edge version only. If you have version 0.4.16 or 0.4.17 of Minetest Game, you need to download version 0.11.0 of this mod, NOT the developer version. Ahhh, I see. Thanks! I don't see any git tags though? Sounds like a 'mod package manager' (like npm is for Javascript) might be answer to that problem. Such a program could handle the installation of mods (and their dependencies!) automagically.

Yeah, I faced similar sorts of issues. Disabling the spawning of roots from the vines mod in particular solved the problem for me - the /profiler command was very helpful in tracking that one down. If you face performance issues when doing map generation, adding more emerge threads might help. It's ...

Get the height fo the hotbar?

I've found a bug in my recent worldedit_hud_helper mod where, on HiDPI displays, the HUD text my mod displays appears inside the hotbar.

My question is this:

How can I get the actual height of the player's hotbar?
