I'm leaving.
Hello, anyone who's heard of me around the forums, used my mods, or played on any servers with me online. I've enjoyed participating in this community, and creating a few mods to make things more interesting. However, every moment that I've spent diving head-first into this community is a moment tha...

[mod] Kotatsu Tables [kotatsu_table]
Do you ever just want to sit around and do nothing in-game, just like in real life? Well, if you are going to attempt lazyness-inception, at least do it the Japanese way, with a Kotatsu Table! This wonderful piece of furniture is both a bed and a desk, and it's so... ..comfy... Huh? What were we tal...

More item groups that need to be standard
I made a discussion on this before, but it was lost in The Great Forum Blackout. Anyway, here were the much needed item/node groups I came up with (names were changed with suggestions from people in that thread): immovable : Something that has lua code (or other nodes) associated with its position s...

Re: [Server] TimeSent (Adventure/Fantasy survival)
tmw_slimes is on the server now. The old slimes mod has been removed, so if you see unknown objects floating around... ...Well, darn.

[mod] Slimes inspired by TheManaWorld [tmw_slimes]
Anyone here ever played The Mana World ? It's another libre game out there, maybe not quite as popular as Minetest, but still very nice. Anyway, I've been there, and I decided to bring back some exotic slimes for y'all, inspired by the ones found in that game! You want slimes? We got 'em! You want l...

Re: Can I do a live backup of a leveldb world?
So, it might be chronologically inconsistent in a few places, but nothing would be corrupted, empty or spontaneously deleted, and there's no chance of the entire map breaking?

What I want to do isn't complicated, just a simple copy command over ssh.bhree wrote:I thinks it is pretty complicated https://stackoverflow.com/questions/129 ... equivalent
I would think the answer to "is that, specifically, safe" would be a simple yes or no.

Re: [Server] TimeSent (Adventure/Fantasy survival)
Through some optimization, I've managed to cut down (er, technically break up into smaller pieces) the amount of serverside lag caused by the ships. More optimization may be made later, but even large ships are fairly stable now, it just depends whether your client can handle that many entities.

Re: [Server] TimeSent
I turned my entire base into a meshnode ship.
It was pure agony, every second of it.
It sent my framerate down into the sunless sea from dfcaverns, and strained the server CPU.
But it worked.
2500+ nodes, all as entities, a flying pagoda arrives on a tide of lag.
I regret nothing.

[32px] [WIP] Reminiscent
Reminiscent is a 32x32 texture pack loosely inspired by default, but darker, and with more details. For each image, I considered the default, and started from scratch with the idea in mind, trying to give that texture more personality (if that's a good word for it). Here's the result: https://notabu...

Re: [128px] hand-painted texture pack by Drummyfish
This is amazing. Every texture is beautiful, and I love it. If it's not too much trouble, could you add textures for the tools and ores in instant_ores ? The mod only needs a small amount of textures if you don't count the armor, and those textures will automatically cover most tools and minerals re...

Re: [Server] TimeSent
I imagine some ships docking near the spawn to come and go or even flying house with support to large size structure. Flying houses are welcome, but I'd prefer that people not park their ships in the middle of the protected spawn area because of lag and clutter. If you leave your ship in spawn, I (...

Re: [mod] Minetest Systemd (API) [minetest_systemd]
Update Playerctl steps can now be deleted with minetestd.playerctl.delete_step , and doing so will clear all of the step's player data. Steps registered during runtime will get new data for themselves. Added minetestd.math.get_volume_in_volume , which is similar to volume_in_volume, but instead ret...

Re: [Server] The Testing Grounds
Announcement Progress on updating the server's various mods has been slow, but I've reached 60% completion as of the time of this message. I expect to have updates to minetest_systemd pushed to its repository today, followed by changes to the rest of the modpack within 2 days, or sooner, unless an ...

Re: [Server] The Testing Grounds
Your server is literaly the only reason why I still have a 0.4.17.1 client on my machine. Well, that significantly changed my attitude. I'll have to rebase my binary that I use for both client and server, though, which will be annoying. (changes: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/8342, and ...

Re: [Server] The Testing Grounds
Announcement Over this weekend, I will be tweaking the server's mod folder in the process of updating to 5.0.0. Most likely, no bugfixes will be made in this time, and no new mods will be added. Obviously, prepare to update your client to 5.0.0 very soon. Please make my job easier, also, by trying ...

Re: [mod] Not so simple plants and fungi
Yep, sure does seem abandoned to me. Fork and fix you should. E:-P I only do that if I have some reason to (usually because the mod is worthwhile enough that I wouldn't want to get rid of it, but it's not in a usable state as-is). If you're looking for something vaguely similar but MUCH more lightw...

https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22172 Now that I actually see the mod, I will admit that the simplicity of it looks nice, and the concept is similar to PhysicsCTL. PhysicsCTL's main differences, though, are why I still prefer it: Effects are registered with a "check function...

Re: [Mod] hang-gliders [hangglider]
As for the question of elytra vs hangglider: Why not both? If the code for both of them is similar enough, it seems reasonable to support both. If not, heck, might even create two separate mods out of it. It's not similar. One can be accomplished just by tweaking gravity. The other would require at...
