Re: Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

The most obvious example of the "paralysis" of "Minetest". The change of name: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/13510 One year for nothing. Changing the name is complicated, but postponing it or not doing it is easy. Instead the issue is still open. The problem is the ...

Re: Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

And to finish and not to be tiresome. No, I don't like C++. I have never learned it, nor do I plan to learn it. It's a pity because I could have contributed to develop Minetest. but it was not possible. I would have liked Minetets to be in another cooler language, Just look at existing voxel sandbo...

Re: Juanpy [Minetest 2D]

I have reactivated it.

For now the game only makes the character move around the screen.

- It already has a basic menu.
- minetest.after function implemented.
- I am studying Tiled https://www.mapeditor.org/ which is an open source program to make 2D maps.

Re: Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

Sorry, this post is an eye opener. I don't personally like the way Minetest has been going this past year. And on top of that Double Wielding has been cancelled now. After 3 years. I find it outrageous. I know I'm a pain in the ass and people are pain in the ass. But I am me. I'm not going to waste ...

Re: Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

I have returned to (reactivated) my Juanpy project. It is a 2D minetest.

The main menu and the equivalent to minetets.after are working.

For now only the character moves.

It is made in Love2D. https://love2d.org/

Re: Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

I personally would prefer Python. Or even LUA itself, all done in LUA.

I also like javascript. And it's meant for the Internet, but javascript, the core, is a modern and sophisticated language.

Minetest Code is inefficient (according to the White House)

https://www.infoworld.com/article/3713203/white-house-urges-developers-to-dump-c-and-c.html We should migrate the code to Python or Rust. I don't program in C++. I absolutely refuse. It's not the right language, it's over 70 years old! It is old and unused today. It is better to do it now before it ...

Re: What is the best Linux version for minetest server?

I use Debian (Raspbian x64) on Raspberry PI 5. OK with the dependencies.

OK working and all the rest.

Linux Mint could be another option (it is Debian based indeed).

Re: BOOKZ [bookz] [z1]

I like the premise but as LMD said, a lot of us like to see screenshots before we're excited to download a mod, no matter if there's a cute girl as a cover image or not. Here's some screenshots for you to use runs (no restriction, I consider them your copyright not mine). Cover page bookz-coverpage...

Please try to use actual screenshots of your mod. You have a massive "cover" image, which is absolutely useless for everyone interested in the mod, yet not a single screenshot. All this "cover image" tells me is that you prompted some generative AI, probably using ❤️ Batutiful ❤...

BOOKZ [bookz] [z1]

BOOKZ.png Are you aware of mods that don't work, are boring or poorly coded? That's over! Here comes another Z mod. This mod replaces the MTG's bad mod 'Books'. It creates fantastic and luxurious books with cover and double-page spreads. - Easy navigation - Page ripping. - Etc. etc. etc. etc. Licen...
