What you want to use is //set air instead, if you use //hide the nodes will not be deleted but "just" become invisible.

Re: How many core devs played/play Minecraft?

A bit late to the party but here goes:

I've played Minecraft since about Beta 1.7.3 and stopped playing it regularly at the time 1.7 came out, "recently" I've played version 1.13.
I also briefly played Minecraft: Pocket Edition when it came out, haven't touched the Win10 edition.

Re: Proposal: migrate from IRC to Element

While reading your post my first thought was that I have no idea what this "Element" thing is supposed to be. As it turns out Element (previously riot.im) is a client for Matrix. Since Matrix is the protocol and Element just one client, this topic would more appropriately titled "Proposal: migrate f...

Re: libcurl4-gnutls-dev and libcurl4-openssl-dev conflict?

You need libcurl to run Minetest, which variant it is doesn't matter.
If the package in the Debian repositories demands a particular variant you'll have to compile Minetest from source (it will use whatever variant of libcurl you have installed).

Worlds are portable across installations and operating systems.
If you copy it to the right location and have the same mods installed, it'll work just fine on Android.

The first three values are indeed RGB, the last two (which are both optional) are alpha and t (another measure of opaqueness, a bit complicated...)

Re: [Help] Error on cross-platform build using VM Linux (Ubuntu)

Ubuntu has two variants of MinGW gcc in its repos: x86_64-w64-mingw32-win32 and x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc-posix . The win32 variant is missing support for POSIX Threads, which Minetest needs. So you'll need to somehow make the buildscript use the "posix" one. Editing the toolchain file used by the buil...

Re: Can't run minetest engine 5.3.0

Since the release of 5.2.0 I have not upgraded the compiler or any libraries, so that's not it.
The only Windows-specific change I can think of is this, but that is still supposed to work on Windows 7.

Re: Server disappears from serverlist with ipv6.

Is the server still ipv4 reachable? I'm asking cause all ips than are ipv6 and just have this anoying ::ffff: prefix so they are just ::ffff:0.0.0.0 Is there a way to allow both? Yes it will still be reachable over IPv4. Mods will get IP addresses in ::ffff:1.2.3.4 format, they'll just need to deal...

Re: Server disappears from serverlist with ipv6.

Make sure you enable IPv6 in your server configuration:

Code: Select all

ipv6_server = true
The reason is that if your domain has an IPv6 record, your Minetest server is expected to be reachable over IPv6 too.

Re: Minetest 5.3.0 release candidate 2

Yes, you need to ensure Minetest loads a builtin that is compatible with your version. How ? * Is it down compatible ? mean I can run 5.3.0 installation (buildin) with older run_in_place 5.2.0 * or how to separate even this builtin, and how to use them ? * maybe shorter is there a table about what ...

Multiple images should work just fine, but the maximum file size is 1 MB.
In your screenshot, the image you are trying to add is larger than that.

Re: passing param1 and param2 with node_dig_prediction and node_placement_prediction?

If the feature you a suggesting existed and you set a node_dig_prediction value that is correct for horizontal trees, the dig prediction would be wrong for vertical trees. So this doesn't actually help in your usecase. So it might be more useful to preserve the old param2 when a dig prediction is pl...
