Re: Logic behind the server list ping?

Also, instead of complaining here how the list ranking is "useless" or "arbitrary", I suggest you make concrete suggestions on how to improve it (e.g. "Just sort by player count and forget anything else"), write these down in a Github issue and work towards getting core...

Re: Logic behind the server list ping?

Ping can be useful as a metric. But only if it is calculated from that particular machine's perspective. The server lists ping wasn't originally meant to be used for display purposes in the Minetest. Re: How do you think about "Forbidden license" paragraph?

A compromise ( License proposal ) : [...] You're describing a non-free license, since it doesn't unconditionally grant the fourth freedom . It was not about closed-source licenses. The licenses KGM intends to use should only permit people from taking credits for KGM's work [...]. It's still a "...

Re: Players without IPv6 cant join my server

Of course his ISP has IPv4, if it didn't he wouldn't be here since the forum uses v4 exclusively.

Re: New Server not staying connected 24/7

First, minetestserver does not shut down automatically if there are no players in-game.

What you want to keep the server running in the background is something like tmux.
Create a tmux instance, start your server inside then detach and it will still be running.

Re: [Windows] sfan5's builds: 32-bit & 64-bit, LevelDB, LuaJ

There's an issue open for this now.
As a workaround you should be able to set TMPFolder in minetest.conf to C:\Windows\Temp

Minetest 0.4.17.1 has been released. This release is a bugfix release for the 0.4 series, that means it does not contain new features but just fixes. It is fully compatible with earlier releases of the 0.4 series and upgrading is especially recommend for servers. Changelog: http://dev.minetest.net/C...
