Re: A non MultiCraft server list please.

As I saw today as checking again the settings from https://github.com/minetest/serverlist/blob/master/server.py#L386 the Points will be cut, lowered as soon a server offers > 200 gamer slots. Before it was around 64, and that is an unproven limit, that also allow everyone of us to set 200, even if ...

Everyone knows it's the other way. sfan, paramatt are listed devs on multicrafts github (: It appears Github needs to revise its' design because this point keeps coming up. You could create a fork called "MinetestSucks" today and Github would show every single Minetest contributor (includ...

Re: Minetest 5.4.1

New translations from Weblate were imported into 5.4.1 without updating the translation "sources" in Weblate.
The translation rollback was already done for 5.4.0 so there should be no vandalism in them.

Re: Trying to implement Shadow Mapping

Someone requested a Windows build of the current state of this PR
Here's it: https://kitsunemimi.pw/tmp/minetest-5.5 ... 4-win64.7z

Briefly tested it to make sure it works and I'm very impressed with your work, thanks for doing this Liso.

Building the server currently doesn't need IrrlichtMt, I'll probably add the support once it's necessary.

Alternatively this server building script should also work on an RPi:

Re: connection timed out

How many different servers have you tried? Which ones?
Generally you should also upgrade to 5.4.1 to see if it has already been fixed.

Re: Failed to load and run script from biome_lib

You can try to uninstall and reinstall biome_lib, a new version was just released that could fix your problems.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just tested myself and it's still broken. The mod author is aware however.

Re: Lua 5.2 sneaking in?

Minetest will either use Lua 5.1 or LuaJIT installed on the system, everything else is irrelevant. This matters because while LuaJIT is fully 5.1 compatible it also supports a few features from 5.2, such as the escape codes or goto . If you develop with LuaJIT it's easy to accidentally use these fea...

Re: Low FPS

After lots of messing around I managed to build a Windows build that runs on the newer, more modern GLES2 driver. It's not clear if this would fix any performance issues but legacy baggage in rendering is something I've suspected before. Would be nice if you could give it a try. You can download it ...

Re: Problem with Minetest-5.5.0-dev compiling.

If you built Irrlicht as a static library you can throw it away after building, if not the libIrrlichtMt.so needs to continue existing at some place the linker will find it.

No, just like 5.4.0 it still uses Irrlicht 1.8. In fact it won't even build with Irrlicht 1.9 or our fork.

Re: Irrlicht has been forked! IrrlichtMt created

Is it possible to make a truncated Irrlicht for Minetest server, which will contain only the math headers? I don't like the fact that the server requires a graphical interface although it doesn't render anything. It doesn't and never has. You could and can always build minetestserver by checking ou...

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed

Or perhaps windowed mode is preventing that auto-detection, if there is a full screen mode that works better? Nah that doesn't make a difference. Also the fullscreen mode has some other issues, I don't recommend using it. Or perhaps flatpak is causing it since this is the flatpak version. If Flatpa...

So that nobody gets stuck due to this bug, here's the workarounds currently available: uncheck the "Host Server" box in the main menu run the world from the command line using minetest --server --worldname "name here" figure out which mod is taking so long and somehow fix that

Re: Main menu overhaul and scaling feature needed

Minetest does automatically scale the menu and font size (at least under Linux and Windows), in fact we often have the problem that fonts are too big.
So we can eventually fix this it'd be helpful if you described the environment you are running Minetest under in detail.

Re: We need more official PR reviewers

What I'm missing myself currently is another coredev who is reasonably active on IRC, which can discuss ideas with me, give a second opinion, etc. What we're missing in general is to finally put this proposal into place. If we have the ability (or rather duty) to judge and reject/accept PRs based on...

Re: Need Help getting my server on the server list

I can't stress this enough: You don't need to set your IP in minetest.conf for server announcing, it will only bring trouble . server_announce = true alone should be enough to have your server appear on the list. If it doesn't that means the server list cannot reach you and you likely haven't forwar...
