Re: Increasing rendering speed dramatically ?

If you enable wireframe mode you can see that Minetest already merges identical faces into planes to some degree. It only seems to do this horizontally and it's also bound by the size of one MapBlock (16x16x16) since those are turned into meshes separately. https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.p...

Re: Minetestmapper rewritten into C++

Nope unrelated to PNG, that error usually points towards invalid data inside the map.sqlite

That's not possible, instead you can just press F5 to see your coordinates and write them down somewhere.

Re: Minetest 0.5 is on the road

Only C++11 standart. If you find gcc/clang compiler for win XP and with C++11 support, minetest will work, i think... So far sfan5's x64 builds work for me on XP64. Certain builds (or even the official ones) might still work on Windows XP since there isn't really any code that requires Windows newe...

Re: [Windows] sfan5's builds: 32-bit & 64-bit, LevelDB, LuaJ

I've figured out the problem: Minetest crashes because of a (supposedly) unhandeled SettingNotFoundException . This exception happens from a call to getFlag("help") in main.cpp, the corresponding function in settings.cpp ( bool Settings::getFlag(const std::string &name) ) does have a t...

It should fix itself after a short while, nothing you need to worry about (unless it persists).

Re: [Windows] sfan5's builds: 32-bit & 64-bit, LevelDB, LuaJ

The 32-bit build of 0.5.0-c830347 indeed seems to be broken (64-bit works), not sure whats causing that.

Re: [Modpack] WorldEdit [worldedit]

Is there a possibility to use the smooth command using the WorldEdit Wand? (I assume you mean the brush) While //smooth really works better on bigger areas at once, I have implemented to the possibility of smoothing using a brush. But, can I already use them with 0.4.16? I tried the newest download...

I've put up we_env, which includes a command to smoothen terrain here: https://github.com/sfan5/we_env
You'll probably want to watch this demonstration video:

Re: [Modpack] WorldEdit [worldedit]

I have one question though, any idea on how to make a smooth brush tool? Something that smoothens the terrain with a given radius? I have code for that almost ready but it still needs a few bugs fixed. I asked a question back in July, but I think it was overlooked. https://forum.minetest.net/viewto...

Re: [Modpack] WorldEdit [worldedit]

Well this is the most fun I've had worldediting in a while... https://forum.minetest.net/download/file.php?id=12222 Brushes are now available in the dev version ! Re: [Modpack] WorldEdit [worldedit]

It's certainly possible to add this.
The important question is how much work it is to create a brush tool with a basic and/or similar feature set to MC's WorldEdit.
