Re: Repixture Resources

Hi, and welcome to the community! I don't know if there's any official documentation for Repixture, but you can try the forum thread here: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=23235 While I'm here, I'll try to give a brief explanation of the crafting too: The 4 slots on the side hold your...

Re: Survey about Minetest-related topics, content, and platforms

Bump for visibility on the new poll. Once again, please stop using Google doc surveys. Google is not trustworthy and there is no way to control that information people give out. Your survey collects and stores user data about their usage patterns of different social media services. I appreciate the...

Re: [SURVEY] What's the feature you'd like to see improved the most?

What's the thing you'd like to see implemented/improved the most? Why? SSCSM. I think there's an enormous amount of polish that could be added to mods/games (and, most likely, some nice perf/responsiveness improvements as well) if scripts could be reliably loaded on clients. Can you name other two ...

Re: [Game] Repixture [1.3.0]

I've got a mod in development with Repixture support planned. I worked around the issue on my end, but I figured it would be good to report the bug so that anyone in a similar situation in the future won't get blindsided.

Re: [Game] Repixture [1.3.0]

Noticed a bug with items today: When the item_drop mod spawns an item entity from a node drop, it disregards any metadata that was supposed to be on the item. Because creative mode moves the item directly to your inventory, this can cause mods that rely on metadata to give inconsistent results depen...

[RESULTS AVAILABLE] Survey about Minetest-related topics, content, and platforms

The Results Hello again, it has now been one week since the survey ended. Not very many people answered the follow-up poll, but the majority of the respondents want to see the individual responses. You can download them in CSV format from this link: Results.zip (As with the original survey I've zip...

Re: Minetest graphic rework (logo and such)

plot twist: the logo is an actual button Here's my take: if your UI requires a "plot twist" to explain basic functionality, then it has serious UX problems. There's nothing about the logo that implies that it's a button, much less a particularly important one! With that said, still I still think yo...

Re: I made the mistake of checking out Roblox

I don't think Minetest necessarily 'went wrong'... for the most part, the difference you're seeing is the result of the environment Minetest is in. As an open-source project with no corporate backing, Minetest's devteam is basically just a band of volunteer programmers. That means there's a huge gap...

Re: [16px] RPG16 - A clean and stylized texture pack

Quick note to anyone playing Repixture with RPG16: If you update the game to the new 1.2.0 release, please grab the corresponding update to RPG16 (1.2.1) to ensure that all models are textured properly. I recommend doing these updates either way, since many (all?) of the graphical fixes in Repixture...

Re: What about play minetest whit the bge(blender game engin

Cycles... is not for game development, period. Realtime and non-realtime renderers operate differently, you can't just use one in place of another and expect it to work. A renderer like Eevee might work, although I wouldn't expect it to be as performant as a renderer designed from the ground-up for ...

Re: Vibrant Lighting

This doesn't affect natural lights, but one thing that makes Minecraft's artificial lighting look much better is the way they color lights. It has been a while since I last played, but iirc artificial light isn't pure white, it gets tinted on a gradient from white (brightest) across the spectrum thr...

I am not a lawyer but that uhh... seems impossible to comply with. Think about it: Even if software is linked from a web page, it has to be hosted somewhere . Even if you try to comply with the license by making such a page, I'd imagine you could still be liable if the direct download link to the so...

What's wrong with the torches is that I was testing at 6:30 AM, and forgot to push one of the textures :D

I think you're all set, everything seems to work texture-wise.

Well, the fixes that you mention all seem to work (except the R90 texture on non-weak torches is still frozen, but not stretched anymore)! Oh right, almost forgot but I also added a first-draft style guide here . As a non-artist I've never written a proper art style guide before, and I'm also not sure if that's really what people are looking for either... I'm open to feedback. Lastly, a quick warning: I plan to increment the minimum su...

So I've finished support in my texture pack, now is the time that I unload all of the graphical issues that I discovered along the way. Re: [Game] Repixture [1.1.2]

Hello, I've been working on adding Repixture support to my texture pack but I've encountered an issue. Papyrus nodes in Repixture use the same texture and name as in MTG, but are rendered as a nodebox and expect their texture to be drawn in a specific manner. This means that any texture pack that is...

Re: Create Texture Pack page on wiki - update

Looks fine, just a couple of things I'd change. First, I don't think the "Top 10 paint programs from techradar" link is very useful for texturing, most of the recommendations are more oriented towards digital painting and other high-res work that most texture packs don't need. This is personal opini...

Someone on the unofficial Discord server was looking for a mod to remove butterflies and fireflies from their Minetest Game world without creating errors. I didn't know of anything that served this purpose, so I put together a neat little mod to do just that. https://forum.minetest.net/download/file...

Re: [DEV] The horrifying "rebase needed"

I honestly don't see much risk in rebasing, if you have an open PR then you have an online copy of the repo and you'll need a local copy to perform the rebase. If you screw up, the worst case is having to re-download the original repo and start over. Even if it was risky (which it isn't at all) reba...
