It was just a policy-based closure because the developer left feedback unaddressed for over a month. I don't think anyone would mind seeing someone take another crack at it.Is this a dead issue or is there still an ambition to implement this in the engine?

Re: [Game] Repixture [1.5.3]
Did a quick check, can't speak to how existing worlds will fare but as for my stuff: RPG16 works out of the box, no changes needed (makes sense, since texture names appear to be unchanged) Cartographer needed a couple of tweaks to use rp_ as a prefix, but it was pretty trivial and I've got the mod r...

Re: Visible-Sneak Edited to "Crawl"
A bit of squash-and-stretch to make it look like you're cartoon character getting hit with a hammer would add a lot to this.

Re: Minetest in 2022
Fun idea! Personally, if I can get myself in the position to do so I'd like to release or contribute to a game this year. As for what I want and expect to see... We're not exactly off to a great start with that code injection kerfuffle from the other day, but I'm pretty optimistic about this year. W...

Re: 2021 Minetest GAME JAM [December 1st-21st] [$720 prize pool] [RESULTS IN!]
A couple of things I also want to mention now that those are out--if any jam participant wants more feedback than they got out of me here, I'm willing to give my personal opinion of what I'd add or change to improve the game in the future. That offer's open to everyone regardless of the score I gave...

Re: 2021 Minetest GAME JAM [December 1st-21st] [$720 prize pool] [RESULTS IN!]
Hmm, strange... Subway Miner took a second place... if I could I would place it on 1st, because IMO this is the most finished game of all remain present ones. Alter is not such finished yet, exactly in terms of the gameplay. There are few original stuff as sounds, textures. Also, the graphic interf...

Re: 2021 Minetest GAME JAM [December 1st-21st] [$700+ prize pool] [IT HAS BEGUN]
Before, games were difficult to make, now there will be games made in 20 days, game-poopers. Don't worry, CDB already had some poops on display. Personally, I'm happy to see something that incentivizes people to make something different from the usual fare. I also don't see anything wrong with folk...

Re: 2021 Minetest GAME JAM [December 1st-21st] [$500+ prize pool] [IT HAS BEGUN]
The minetest engine itself is pretty inefficient, this basically means there's an upper limit on the visual polish that games are allowed to have As a judge I probably shouldn't offer advice, but here's my take: Some forms of visual polish might not be as viable for perf reasons, but a strong art d...

Re: 2021 Minetest GAME JAM [December 1st-21st] [$500 prize pool]
Honestly, I think this is fucking stupid, if Minetest higher ups can give people money for making games, why can't we close source our stuff, why can't we make money, add game encryption and I will start making Minetest games again. You can absolutely close-source your stuff today. CDB doesn't acce...

Re: Discord is official now?!
Or some form of alternate chat thing since people here may not like it. There's Matrix and several IRC channels , you can always use those if you prefer. And to everyone else--if you really want Minetest chatting to happen elsewhere, make your own alternatives or support the existing ones. The majo...

Re: [16px] RPG16 - A clean and stylized texture pack
Will you mainly be working on maintaining compatibility with mods/games already on your list? Yes. AFAIK, awards is non-deprecated mod that I know of that has lost compatibility and a fix is in progress. It's just going to be a while before that hits, since I have several dozen 32px icons to produc...

Re: [16px] RPG16 - A clean and stylized texture pack
Unfortunately, Ethereal support is deprecated and I will not update it further or accept any PRs updating it. I appreciate that this sucks for users, but it's a major maintenance liability for me so I made the decision to end active support for it. It was not an easy decision, I know a lot of people...

Re: When MTG dropped?
Minetest Game will not be dropped, it comes as part of the game so you can run a basic world, it has however stopped being developed and is in maintenance mod only... Only the engine itself is in active development. Actually, I don't believe that's correct. By my understanding, Minetest Game is sup...

Update v1.3.0 Available on ContentDB , as always! What's New? This is a pretty small update, mainly focused on updating game support and fixing transparency in Minetest 5.4+. This update does add support for 3 new mods, though: Basic Grenades Basic Materials Moon Phases One last thing to note--RPG1...

Re: We need more official PR reviewers
+1 from me as well. Speaking personally, I would be interested in a position like this (although ultimately this is a decision for the coredevs, not myself). As someone with other hobbies and a day job, I could never offer the dedication and responsibility to the project that a coredev needs, but I ...

*Bump*
I recently returned to the community after a ~6-month hiatus, but apparently the pages are still up. Is there a timeline for this process, or has the situation changed at all?

Re: Lua documentation on Minetest Developer Wiki is wrong
The official way to improve formspec documentation is to edit lua_api.txt instead. Yeah, that's the problem. As long as that documentation is stuck in a single text file, it will never be good. Even if we work our asses off to re-arrange and group things properly, actually digging into and understa...

Re: Lua documentation on Minetest Developer Wiki is wrong
Hm, this is a really unfortunate discovery. I'd just begun the process reworking the formspec docs in hopes of being able to provide comprehensive and well-organized documentation of Minetest's main UI systems... but I guess it's all going to be deleted? Guess there's no point trying to improve thin...

Re: Survey about Minetest-related topics, content, and platforms
Bump for visibility on the new poll. Once again, please stop using Google doc surveys. Google is not trustworthy and there is no way to control that information people give out. Your survey collects and stores user data about their usage patterns of different social media services. I appreciate the...

Re: [SURVEY] What's the feature you'd like to see improved the most?
What's the thing you'd like to see implemented/improved the most? Why? SSCSM. I think there's an enormous amount of polish that could be added to mods/games (and, most likely, some nice perf/responsiveness improvements as well) if scripts could be reliably loaded on clients. Can you name other two ...

Re: [Game] Repixture [1.3.0]
Noticed a bug with items today: When the item_drop mod spawns an item entity from a node drop, it disregards any metadata that was supposed to be on the item. Because creative mode moves the item directly to your inventory, this can cause mods that rely on metadata to give inconsistent results depen...
