Re: Warning: clever spammer is copying posts from Reddit

It may not be related, but for some weeks now new accounts pop up here and there and make the same post on 'Wanna Discuss Something', asking the forum rules. I answered it once, but then the same post has come up from different accounts many times now. The accounts make the post as soon as they sign...

Re: [16px] [WIP] MTG4MCL2

I used to use this tp some time ago... I don't like the pixel perfection ones Hmm, to be honest, I don't feel like maintaining this anymore, sorry. Someone would have to take it over. I would love to help out! I also forked the Unofficial official tp (also dead apparently) and am fixing many texture...

Re: How can the minetest community be made bigger?

Minetest won't come with any game in the near future, once the new main menu redesign is done. And a bigger community isn't necessarily better imo

Re: Pkg dependencies

Can you link the mod's forum page? Optional dependencies are 'optional' as in: not needed to run. Usually mods can be found in the forums by using the search bar. If you are unable to find its topic, select the gear icon beside the search box and add the mod's name in search query and select 'topic ...

[16 px] alt_tp : Alternate textures for MCL2 [WIP]

alt_tp is an alternate texture pack for MineClone 2 based on Unofficial Official Textures. 16 px, WIP Aims to follow the aesthetic of Minecraft. Made because Unofficial Official Textures seems outdated and possibly abandoned. I know I should have made a PR, but my plan is to replace all the Unoffic...

Re: Minetest radical graphical rework

After looking over Linuxdirk's 'Void' game project, I was thinking about the idea of some very basic nodes being 'essential' or 'core' to MT (I think he defines them as "stone, water, river water"). That had me thinking: what if instead of cartridges, you have very simple flat mockups of say 3-4 'e...

Re: Minetest radical graphical rework

@freshreplicant exactly said what I was trying to say, fully agree. Can someone maybe make a Html/css mock-up for the concept? Also, we need to remember that however nice the menu looks, it needs to be implementable in the engine. If half of what I have read on these forums is true, the current GUI ...

Re: Making "->" usable in the crafting grid?

Umm... You can click on the sticks multiple times. If the planks are there, the number of sticks crafted will add on. No need to drag them first However crafting in general can be improved in various ways, IMO. We need an option to craft as much as possible. Perhaps clicking on the arrow can be used...

Re: Minetest radical graphical rework

Aaaahhh... Perhaps it is due to the placeholder graphics, but I feel that the menu is no longer related in any way to the actual games- which are lacking in details. Tell me, can you imagine a menu like this for Minetest Game? Btw, if a working preview of this menu could be made - either in actual M...

Re: Minetest radical graphical rework

That actually crossed my mind, but it brings up another problem here: Minetest has no official logotype. In short, a logo is usually made of a logomark (the image) and a logotype (the text). This is not the case as there is no text, so it'd mean designing that too - and it's not easy, if you don't ...

Re: Minetest radical graphical rework

This looks very nice! I too like the second GUI. However, which font do you plan to use? Pixel or otherwise? I also like your background, maybe the different layers can move sideways at different speeds, like the old platformer games? More importantly, how do you plan to make the singleplayer screen...

Re: Debian Buster Minetest

Install Minetest from buster-backports, 5.3 is available in the backports.
Please don't use Ubuntu Minetest PPAs (or any PPAs actually) on Debian! I can tell from personal experience that it will break your Debian installation.

Re: unknown items?

An unknown item usually comes up if the mod providing the item was disabled. They can't be 'made to work' unless the mod providing it is enabled. I need more information to help you: 1. Which game are you using? Minetest Game? (The name is given in the top right corner of the Start Game tab) 2. By n...

Re: The future of Minetest

(Note: I am very inexperienced in both modding and playing survival, don't take me too seriously) 1. I usually make sure to update the games/mods to their latest version when updating the engine. And if MTG is crashing it means you aren't on the version which comes with the engine, which means you h...

c55.me has really old versions available (0.0.1 it seems) and they seem to be either windows binary or source code. Scroll down to miscellaneous or old versions.

Uhh no I said that there should be a less hacky way of doing it, not that it should be there by default..
