Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.65.2]
where MT/MCL2 falls short is the shaders, shadows, etc This is, again, an engine-side limitation. But I already have implemented a proof-of-concept second rendering stage, which should allow for effects like ambient occlusion or focus blur. I'll probably be able to get this polished until 5.3 :D Of...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.64.0]
So you're teaching your kids to depend on provably insecure, proprietary spyware for communication? Nice. Zoom might be more convenient to use, but you have to make a lot of sacrifices to use it … You've got to pick your battles. I was already asking parents to grapple with 2 bits of OSS, it's hard...

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.64.0]
Hey, just wanted to post a big thanks for this mod. I'm hosting my daughter's Socially Distant Birthday Party on a Mineclone 2 creative-mode server tomorrow. My girls have been playing with it for weeks. Thanks for the tips earlier about skins, folks, they work great. Only thing I can't find is comm...

Re: Minetest 5.2.0
Should I wait on Debian buster backports of this? Buster backports still has 5.1.1. Or to get 5.2.0 should I look at installing from source?

Not showing /named_waypoints gui in MineTest 5.2.0 using min
Was very excited to use this just to map out my server a bit for my kids - just put waypoints on the pointing out which way to interesting biomes. Sadly the GUI does not appear when I was test-driving it in singleplayer using both minetestgame and mineclone2 I typed the following: /grant singleplaye...

Re: Must-have mods/game for a kids' server?
Note, all the skin mods don't seem compatible with MineClone 2. Anybody have pointers on a MineClone2-compatible skin mod?

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.61.0]
Are there any skin mods that work with MineClone 2? Seems like all of them need MineTestGame. Just looking to have some variety in the picker.

Re: [Game] MineClone 2 [0.61.0]
Anybody have any luck getting MineClone 2 running on a Linux server? I've got a pi4-2gb raspbian box running vanilla Minetest game just fine, but if I try to put a MineClone world in there it just times out when I try to connect. Little help? edit: W000000000000000 it was just a chmod problem! anybo...

Re: Must-have mods/game for a kids' server?
Okay, so, progress: Mumble was super easy to deploy. Definitely recommend that. Can't for the life of me get MineClone running on the server. When running a dedicated server, there doesn't appear to be any way to spawn the "new world" menu, nor any console commands for re-creating the game...

Must-have mods/game for a kids' server?
Total newb here. I'm setting up a server for my daughter and her friends, running on a Pi4 2GB - got the bare minimum up. Domain name, default password, publicized on the browser where she can find it. Next steps are 1) Figuring out how to get MineClone2 installed so they can get a minecraft-like ex...

Re: Can't connect to my MineTest dedicated server on Raspbia
Thanks! That worked. Which does raise a bunch of questions - what do I put in bind_address to make it actually accept requests on any IP? Do I *have* to bind to an address? Because when I left bind_adress out it was binding to 0.0.0.0.

Re: Can't connect to my MineTest dedicated server on Raspbia
0.0.0.0 in a listener is supposed to mean "bind to any incoming request for any address" instead of specifying I only want requests from my 192.168.1.X address or my domain name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/0.0.0.0 I'll see if specifying an address to listen upon fixes it, but I'm skepti...

Can't connect to my MineTest dedicated server on Raspbian
I've gotten MineTest-server 5.1.1 installed from backports, and it looks like everything's running. # systemctl status minetest-server ● minetest-server.service - Minetest multiplayer server minetest.conf server con Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/minetest-server.service; enabled; vendor Active:...
