Comparisons to MC are invalid =) The reason ores are so ridiculously shallow in MC is because MC has a tiny world height. If MC world height was larger the ores would be deeper. If you say so :) For me, it's just hard to justify it in survival mode, because in Minetest game, you don't NEED anything...

I use 5.2.0.

I had installed and enabled the "minecart" mod when testing the built-in carts - could that break the functionality?

I haven't tried disabling the "minecart" mod in the world, I'll try that next.

I read up on carts in the minetest wiki, and apparently the default carts mod in Minetest Game is supposed to be able to transport items when you drop them in and punch the cart. Doesn't work for me though.

This mod works though since the update. Thanks!

In MTG, there are no challenging mobs or anything like that in caves. So the only way to make the ores harder to reach was to move them deeper. And we are discussing the dullness of MTG again. Thanks Krock. I read both sides of the issue and I think there were good points on both sides. I was asking because I installed the Bedrock2 mod, and was trying to decide where to set the y limit. I liked in Minecraft having the feeling of reaching rock bottom. I personally have never mined past pro...

No, petz are entities, so they should be detected. Please, query to mesecons. Why are ores so far down?

Hi all, If I understand the Minetest wiki correctly, diamond ores can't be found until -1024y. That's more than 10x as deep as minecraft! Does anybody know why this is? I understand Minetest world are cubic and much deeper, and that's great - but why make some of these ores so hard to get in surviva...

I have the "Petz" mod by runs installed, but the animals don't seem to activate the pressure plates when they walk over them. Does anyone know why this would be?

Again, I don't have very much programming experience, but my thoughts are these: To make it darker: Something in Minetest game senses when your head is under water, because it starts removing your breath bubbles. I would think you could make a mod that would also sense this, and then change the sky ...

I think view distance is changed by the client settings. I was messing around with the game and turned down the view distance when I was under water, and it had a pretty cool effect, I thought. You're thinking it can't be changed by a mod I assume, what about a mod for a dark fog? Would that be har...

Hi all, I'd like someone to help me create a mod that changes the view distance and node colors? atmostphere colors? when under water. I'm thinking it will make underwater diving a little more realistic and exciting, especially with mods that add undersea plants, fish, and ship wrecks with treasures...

Thanks TechniX! Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough. It looks like there's some mods out in the wild that I need to try too, like this "shipwreck" mod at FreeGamers. Now THAT sounds cool!
