Re: [original ideas for new tools]
I think that, to sort of mirror the pickaxe side of it, perhaps there could be axes that could: -Give an extra log (to mirror fortune picks) -Turn the logs straight into planks (to mirror the lava pick) -Maybe an axe that gives a chance to get sticks and/or apples (more often) from leaves I'll proba...

Re: How to upload animated images into post?
You can upload the image/gif to something like imgur.com, right click and open it/copy the image's url, and then use the (img) (/img) tags to embed it into a post, use square brackets-I just realised I can't actually say them without using normal brackets, oops.

Re: [mod] YATM (Yet Another Tech Mod)
After adding the two trusted mods (and deleting yatm_spacetime as it was pointing to a missing file) the mod loads, also on the release builds of the game. Just from playing around for a few minutes I haven't had any crashes just yet.

I downloaded sfan5's LuaJIT build (minetest-5.2.0-f2e6229), installed the mod and tried to run it but got the same error, the error message works however: 2019-11-05 21:15:44: [Main]: Automatically selecting world at [C:\Users\User\Downloads\minetest-5.2.0-f2e6229-win64\bin\..\worlds\yatm] 2019-11-0...

Is there a specific way to install this and/or any dependencies? Re: [WIP]256x256 SteamedPunk Texture-Pack[WIP] github
I love this texture pack! Everything is realistic yet holds a cartoon like feel still, maybe it's the contrast. I especially like the metal block and wood textures. I do however have some concerns about it: -the bronze and mese shovels are round the wrong way, you hold them by the heads. -the inside...

Re: Crafting holes. (copper, tin, fire.)
This could always be a thread under Feature Discussion I guess metal tool varients would be more "realistic" but some may lack usefulness, like buckets. Why use copper when iron is abundant etc. Wood buckets would be nice though-buts there's a mod for that. Bronze tools are a nice enough b...

Re: I'm trying to host a server with mods but I get this err
Based off of a similar error I got from copying the preview file from \clientmods to \mods and the paths you've specified, do you have the "preview" folder in your \mods path in the root directory of the game? If so try removing it if you're still having this problem.

Re: [Mod] Obsidian Tool Knapping [1.1] [knap]
That might fit well into RealTest (if that ever gets further development) as RealTest already comes with stone age skins and complex crafting. The mod might also be of intrest in other ares. Tools made out of flint would make more sense than tools created from cobble blocks. Hope this gets develope...

Re: Angled Walls
There are a few mods for this that I can find/remember, moreblocks (https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=509) has one where you can make lots of different variations of blocks-as long as you don't mind adding more blocks to the game. This is really useful for lots of different things, I use it...

Re: Hosting a server on Synology NAS server
Sorry about that, we tried to use the "latest" build when installing linuxserver/minetest from the docker registry, we then created the paths /config/.minetest/main-config, placed the map files in /config/.minetest/worlds/world, added the games subfolder to /config/.minetest/ and ran the c...

Re: Hosting a server on Synology NAS server
Thanks for the help texmex, we've just tried to run through this-but the instructions are unclear. We've made the required paths (e.g. /config/.minetest/main-config) but the rest of it seems confusing. The world files (map_meta.txt and world.mt) are stored in /config/.minetest as said in the instruc...

Hosting a server on Synology NAS server
Hopefully this belongs here, My friend recently got a Synology NAS server (1511+ model, running DSM Linux (apparently, couldn't find the distro exactly), Intel atom D525). We've managed to ssh into it using Putty and set up remote file access. However, we'd like to host a small Minetest server on it...

Re: How to post a Minetest world?
If you want to post your world to the forum, first go to your worlds folder (should be under the default directory?). Compress/send your world folder to a zip folder. Create a thread here: https://forum.minetest.net/viewforum.php?f=12. On your post there should be a tab at the bottom to attach a fil...

The worldedit mod has support for flipping objects. Don't know if it could handle massive areas at once, but for structures it will be fine. Here's an example https://i.imgur.com/pxTLZU1.gif Use //pos1 and //pos2 to create the positions for editing. Then use //flip x,y or z to flip the selected area...

Re: how can I add attachments to my posts?
Welcome to the forums,
At the bottom of the new post menu (full editor for replies) there should be a tab labeled "upload attachment". You'll be given the option to upload a file. Choose a file, then press "add the file".

[Mod] Obsidian Tool Knapping [2.1] [knap]
Saw some videos of this being done on YouTube and thought it would be a good idea for a Minetest mod and a way to get back into making things for the game after a long time. This mod adds the ability to knap (more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knapping) obsidian to create tools. Current...

Minetest with Raspberry Pi's new Opengl driver
It's been a while since I posted here but I was checking the blog on the Raspberry Pi website and saw that there has been an Opengl driver added to Raspbian (this only works on the Pi 2B model). This in turn has meant many more graphical programs can be run smoothly; what caught my eye was that some...

Re: Post your modding questions here
Hello, I've been trying to make some tools in a mod I am making but I am having trouble making two of them. How would I make it so a pickaxe drops the smelted product of whatever it digs? Also how would I make it so when a ore is dug by a certain pickaxe it drops a different item (e.g. gold ore--> g...

Re: [16x] Simple Pixels
I made some textures for mods so stuff in my world blended in. These included moreores, technic (some machines and ores) and morertrees (trunks and leaves). Can i submit these to you please? I did some lumps, including technic/moreores.
By the way, loving the tools :D
