Re: "Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.

OK, my apologies for wasting your time. I *finally* found someone else mentioning this issue appearing in MineTest 5.0 back in 2019. So I'm posting over there now. Seems like an issue with the new MTs. Best regards, Bill

Re: [Mod] Villagers for Minetest [villagers][v0.17]

Does Villagers work for the newer Minetests like Version 5.3? I've included only the mods: cottages, handle_schematics, mg_villages, and villagers. The villagers appear, but they only "turn" and "stand". They do converse and one can trade with them. But they do not walk around or...

Re: "Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.

OK, I had just started minetest from scratch to make sure I hadn't caused some problems inadvertently. And I got the same behavior. But now I'm really confused because I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7RXlWu3IrA and it shows villagers walking around. This was done by Error Null who is not...

Re: "Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.

To be more precise, I put in some print statements, and the villagers only STAND and TURN. If I do something like the following in function animateVillager() if current_action == "STAND" then -- tested ok! randomAct(self) -- randomly do another action print(self) --print("Told to walk...

Re: "Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.

Thank you, this makes more sense now. Your explanation is quite clear and thanks for that. It isn't an error on my part, but because working_villages uses "default:" nodes. I can see that in the code. I'll probably ask them if they have any plans to port it to MC2. I might even try it myse...

"Working Villages" in Mineclone2 has unsatisfied dependencies.

Hello, I've been trying Mineclone 2 and it is fantastic. Really really interesting. But I've been struggling to get "working villages" to work in it. I'm running Minetest 5.3 on Linux Mint 20 and have the following mods installed: cottages craftguide handle_schematics mg_villages villagers...

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

I've worked up some mods to the minetestmap source code that appear to do the trick. No, my mods aren't pretty, or in the style of C++. But I'll include them here in case anyone wants them. First, put your "track" into a file called "track" in your minetestmap directory. It has t...

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

Might be feasible to modify the minetestmap source code to add the track by reading in the coordinates and making those pixels red.... using void Image::setPixel(int x, int y, const Color &c) in Image.cpp?

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

That is very cool. I did use minetestermap, before starting this thread, actually. I like it! How did you overlay the track onto the map? I was really interested in examining my mines, so needed a 3D visualization.... here is one mine. Red at the top (like your path) and blue at the bottom. Now I ca...

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

I have modified one line of your code to:

if track_player ~= nil then

and am testing. I have no idea whether this even reasonable. I don't know
lua (yet).

Re: Making "->" usable in the crafting grid?

I just checked again, since I'm new to this, but for me, there does not appear to be any difference w/r shift-left click and left click w/r the inventory.

You are correct about shift-left for a chest - it can be used to toggle an item from inventory to the chest and back. Neat! Thank you!

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

Hello, SorceryKid, I have had one issue with your script. It occasionally crashes with: 2020-08-29 22:54:18: ERROR[Main]: ServerError: AsyncErr: environment_Step: Runtime error from mod 'track' in callback environment_Step(): /usr/share/minetest/builtin/common/vector.lua:67: attempt to index local '...

Re: Making "->" usable in the crafting grid?

After I posted this message I discovered (doh!) that left-clicking the output box does what I was suggesting the arrow should do (as eyekay says). Sorry! I do like the suggestion of using the arrow to maximize output though. Sort of like what the furnace does automatically? Or click it once to start...

Making "->" usable in the crafting grid?

OK, 2 weeks into minetest here so I can interact with my grandson remotely, and it is super addictive. I love it! Kudos to everyone who has worked on this! And for answering my prior questions. I just have one suggestion about a possible modification, for the purposes of efficiency. When I'm using t...

Re: Visualize 3D maps of movement?

Wow - thanks! I didn't get email about your reply and only accidentally found it. Is this a so-called "lua" script? I don't want to waste your time but could you point me to a link on how to use this? If I had to hazard a guess I would create a new "mod" directory (with some name...

Visualize 3D maps of movement?

Hello, I've been wondering if anyone has done anything to be able to visualize the minetest world in 3D. The "wireframe" view is useful, and I'd like to do something similar. Namely, print out the coordinates of where I'm at, so that as I move around through the caves I generate a cluster ...

Re: Only able to collect one block, or one apple tree chunk, etc...

Yes, that was it! I do believe I granted all privileges earlier, to test some things, and yup, "creative" was there and I didn't notice that. It also didn't really act like ticking the checkbox in the main menu, because nothing was unlimited. Just one stone available at a time.... Possible...

Only able to collect one block, or one apple tree chunk, etc...

So, I'm a newbie and trying to learn minetest to play with my grandson. The good news is that I've figured out everything w/r to hosting a game as server, and I'm getting into the game, but I've had one issue... Namely, I can't get more than one block at a time. The hotbar/inventory refuses to show ...
