In theory, you might start with a singlenode map and place everything there by using place_schematic. That might be pretty slow and impractical for large maps. Nice! My handle_schematics mod can do that as well to some degree but still has a bug in some rotated upside-down stairs (well, mostly mirroring is giving it problems...impossible to mirror some shapes). Very good to be able to do the rotation in WE now.

Which version are you using? On which platform? The Java version doesn't seem that bad. Sadly it will get unusable in the future due to requiring a Microsoft account. People in MineTest are very different, and so they all use different mods! Freedom can sometimes be stressful :-) Don't worry too much about it. It's just that way. Hume2's idea doesn't sound too bad, but beeing limited to three reports per day might be too low. Probably not so highly needed as mg_villages doesn't come with many textures. I'm not at all good at texture art and try to get away with re-using existing textures if possible :-) However, having a complete set of remote media data certainly couldn't hurt.
