Re: Post your Buildings(screenshots)

The attention to detail is quite nice on these structures. I never was a fan of the non 90 angular blocks in a Minetest world, but they work really well.

In progress: lava / fire realm. Needs some buttresses to make the structure more convincing and powerful looking.

Re: Post your screenshots!

Nice touch with falling water. I wonder how the bridge looks at night. Yeah, I am pretty happy with this building, I think its one of the best ones I've made. I think there's some more small details to add, but this is good for now. The bridge in particular was inspired by whale ribs, which was fun...

Re: A non MultiCraft server list please.

Okay, first: We currently have possible 9407 different versions of official Minetest (each commit on MS GitHub could be used to compile it in this state, each causing a different checksum). Even if only allowing the tagged releases there are 55 of them. Only allowing tagged releases won’t work beca...

Re: A non MultiCraft server list please.

but from my perspective, it would likely involve some form of code / executable hash verification. For example, just take the md5 of the Minetest executable and then send that to the serverlist. There is so much wrong with this I don’t even know where to start. (Technical details be damned. I'm not...

Re: A non MultiCraft server list please.

I'd like to point out (according to my understanding) that the OP is not referring to the official serverlist, but rather is referring to the server listings as reflected in the Minetest client. Frankly, as long the server is fully compatible with standard Minetest clients, I see no problem at all. ...

Re: A non MultiCraft server list please.

Multicraft and others parasitizing the Minetest server list infrastructure is absolutely fine according to the devs. https://github.com/minetest/serverlist/issues/32 That's completely different than I request MineTest clients have the option to opt in of viewing Multicraft servers on the server lis...

I also approve of being able to manipulate this. The latter two do look much better to me. It is just a post-processing effect, so it shouldn't be too hard to implement, even dirtily, I'm sure.

Re: JavaScript for moddding

MS currently makes Github slightly incompatible to the outside world using bullshit reasons for justification . I think it is important to clarify this "bullshit reason" is that 'main' is more translatable to more languages and is promoting an anti-racist rhetoric and takes less than 3 mi...

They could (and eventually will) re-license it to a proprietary license. I wonder even if a community will be able to support V8 engine when Google will drop it's support as it dropped a support for a lots of another projects. I disagree that they will re-license it. I think TypeScript, like many o...

Re: JavaScript for moddding

More than JavaScript, TypeScript would be a lot better. Why would anyone use a stand-alone Microsoft scripting language for embedded scripting of free software? Because Typescript is licensed under Apache License 2.0 and it makes writing bad JavaScript code harder. And because it is a superset of J...

does replacing the env_meta.txt from a working similar setup help?

or just delete it as suggested here
Deleting and resetting works. Will add some comments to the issue.

LRV has been informed that what he did was improper and an abuse of his helper status. Each of these seem like performance-feature tradeoff settings. Why is there one checkbox unchecked when I want all features, or one left if I need maximum performance? It's confusing.
